If Bzp Had Mirrors

Jean Valjean

:kaukau: If BZP had mirrors, my reflection would not show the avatar of Gali that you all know. The avatar itself was merely requested from Bioni-Cool Mech because I wanted to be cool. I wanted to stand out and get a trademark. I want...Popularity. With that comes a thirst for power.

The hunger for power has, for the longest time, been mainly seen as a desire to take over a country, although it can mean something else. We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, but the desires of power make you want to be more than everyone else.

That's what I do on BZP. In the back of my mind, I just want power here on BZP. It's almost as if it's a new obsession. I want to be a big shot, someone like Zeddy or Zahd. That's who I truly am underneath, despite my polite and well thought out posts. Heck, this greed is one of the reasons I wrote long posts in the first place: to make me look smarter and to draw attention to the post, and therefore me. BZPower also provided RPGs, and although I enjoy writing, there's still, in the back of my head, the desire to impress everybody and to show off. So many of my posts around the forums were probably for the sake of rising my post count in order to improve my image. I suppose a lot of other people will post for that purpose too, but it doesn't make me feel any better. It feels as if everything I do here on this site is for my own gain. Just about the only time I ever do anything that is purely for constructive cause is when I start a topic, which are usually base off of questions which I've had floating around in my head for a while.

I haven't lived up to EmperorWhenua. Instead of giving respect, I seem to be demanding it from others. It's not right.

If BZPower had mirrors, my reflection would show up as Hafu, not Gali.

Your Honor,

Emperor Kraggh

I wish I could write like you.

I respect you, sure you may not know who I am,but I've seen you around the forums and I totally respect you.

Your long posts, smart words, sure you maybe just make everything up to gain respect, but that you got courage to tell this, that gains you respect.

I'm sure I sound like a noob,but I just wanted that said. :)

Just so you know, man, you're one of the BZPers I respect the most, due to your grasp on the English language, and your (usually) well-thought-out posts. (between us I respect you as much, if not more, than Zahd)

As to the topics-are-just-questions-you-had-in-your-head, I do that a lot too, it's not strange =P. Either that or we both are.

Let me tell you something... Every member on this site is just like you and anybody who isn't needs to be shot in the foot. :) Who doesn't like power, especially on the internet where you are relatively safe if you should make a bad decision? So, don't feel bad, because everybody enjoys these things, though they may not admit it.

Look at Takuta-Nui. When he was getting near his 10,000th post, he went on a crazy posting rampage -- just to boost his post count to 10,000. Is that a bad thing? No, not at all.

Go in my blog (click the link in my sig), find my post approval on the left side in the content blocks, get the link (right click, properties, etc...), and stick it in your content block using the image tag.

You deserve it.

A rather interesting and unusual opening to a blog, but far more effective than any other.

You are no different from anyone else in that matter. Here on BZP, or in real world. Greed is what makes you, me and everyone else a human. Greed is what makes use rise to power, and greed is what causes our demise. Greed for money, greed for power, greed for status. Even greed for someone else's bag of sweets. Its what drives us eternally on.

You are not to blame for wanting a taste of power or for demanding respect from others. We all are like that, its just that most of us can mask it and appear greater, for the lack of a better word.

I am no different. If you looked behind the grace of the black swan or the fury of the demonic wolf, you would find someone who feasts on power - you would find a human.

I have met countless people in my life, and few are as complex as you, Kraggh. I am glad to be on BZP just because you are here.

You having the courage to admit what you are behind the mask, just shows that you deserve the respect you are given - and a lot more.

I do wish I could write more, but it would probably get completely of topic and irrelevant.

Ask yourself this: What would you do if you had the power you so seek? Would you be like a dog chasing a car and not knowing what to do when you caught it? Or would you be able to rise beyond that and do something greater?

I apologize if the above does not make sense. Often I wonder if the only person to whom I make sense is me...

:kaukau:In the last part of your post, Melchior, I appreciate the point you bring up about the dog and the car. So often, it is easy for someone such as me on BZP to forget why we would like the attention. We want it to make our opinions heard, but why do we want them heard? To get attention? That is so highly contradictory. When we have power, such as popularity, it's real purpose, which we so commonly forget, it that it must be responsibly used for greater purposes.

Indeed, Mel made an extremely important point.

So now, let me say that popularity does not grant power. It grants responsibity. Let's face it, popularity is slaving one's self to a particular circle in society. It makes one feel important, but really they are in this group only because they were let in, and if the person 'worked' to get in by changing one's self to fit the wants of that particular group, then he takes the responsibity to stay in that circle by keeping up the lies he needs to conjure to remain a part of it. As you can see, forced popularity is a form of slavery, to both your peers and yourself.

But the thing is that many do not see this until they are already snared by that which is popularity.

In one of my synopsi of society, I made no mention of people who become a part of a group by forcing themselves to fit. That is because I based that view on a pure society, with pure people and honest intent. There was no room for the pretender. In a utopian community, people fill in their places by default, they fit in by way of falling in, not climbing in. Sociological, and even demographical, position is made by natural causes.

Now let's look at my State of Honesty blog entry. It bluntly points out the ease at currupting entire nations by way of untruth.

My point: be who you are.

You look at Zahd and say he is a popular big shot. I say, he does what he does well, and that is saying what he things. He does it harshly, and that small following he has among the members gave him the popularity he has. He got that honestly because the people like what they see in him and he acts in his own interests, not those around him.

Look at me. I have a following, am well-respected among some, and am also a seasoned debater. Sounds just like Zahd, right? Only I target a different audience. I target all my works towards the people, not the bosses, and the people like what they see and act upon that. If the bosses dislike what I say, they can not blame it on me, because I do not force it on anyone and say it all by way of gentleness. They can turn to the people, but they are innocent. As such, I am incapable of being judged by the authorities, unlike Zahd, who keeps getting lower and lower proto.

But both of these were made by way of honesty and being who you are. So now, I challenge you to be who you are, not who you want to be. Find your place that way. It took me over two years to find mine, so take your time.
