Check your sources; this quote came from a satirical "interview" in a web publication in 1996. It has been reprinted numerous times by clueless or unscrupulous journalists who don't even check to see what interview it was from for context, or if that interview even actually existed.

 

Honestly, it's pretty obvious that it's a parody.
