The last few requirements for my Eagle Scout rank are my project, completing my Personal Fitness partial and finish my Cycling merit badge.

Yesterday, I did work for the latter.

Most notably, I cycled 26 miles.

On other news, last thursday, at my BSA meeting, I was finally appointed a junior assistant Scoutmaster, meaning that I am now a part of the upper tier of leadership in my troop. Which, of course, also means I won't have to be putting up with the incessant calls for me to be the Senior Patrol Leader again (people want me to be that again because of all the forward movement I had the troop undergo; many new ideas were implemented and problems were fixed, making me one of the most important and active SPLs troop 114 has ever had). Now, however, as a JASMine (as I like to call it, lol), I am superior to every other youth-held position, giving me far more leverage to accomplish troop goals that had been in my mind.

All in all, I'm pretty happy and exhausted at the same time.

Also, for those who do not know yet and are interested, the BSA has released their new centennial uniform. It's lighter, more comfortable and outdoorsy. Everything in the uni. has changed. And frankly, I dun like it. At. All. The whole idea of the uniform is to look official, to be used as an image of being a Boy Scout. It is a dress attire that is revered. I use it for ceremonies or special events in which I must look my Scouting best. And now, they make us look like campers in district courts or honor? Brilliant. Thelast thing I want to hear from a scout next to me in a ceremony is a velcro scratch. Seriously, they took the buttons for the pocket flaps away and replaced them with velcro.

I will not be buying the new uniform unless it is given to me for free. I'm not going to invest $100 bucks of my money to get something that I don;t think represents us as well as it should.
