Auto Body Work...

.:Schism of the Wolven:.

I friend of the family owns a fairly successfull auto body shop, so I'm taking an LOA (Leave of Absence) from my normal position at the company Target for a few months to learn the basics of body work and mechanics.

We're currently restoring a 1957 Chevy Nomad that belongs to him. he paid $200 for it. Now, mind you it's a peice of junk, but it's got all original parts, engine, tranny, etc.

We're estimating about a year or so to finish. (It's a project car, so the priority goes to the business).

After it's restored, the value will be well into the $100,000 range.

Schweet.

Now, I myself am not getting paid. However, I am buying a classic car as well, (Preferably a '60-'70 Monte Carlo, Camaro, T-Bird, etc.) and he's going to help me finish it. So, I buy parts and paint, and I get all the help + tools I need for free.

And he's been doing this for 45 years. So this dude knows cars. =D

So we estimated about $1,000 for a WIP car, to sell for around $20,000.

Not a bad deal.

I'll keep you guys updated.
