Possibly My Greatest Weekend

Watashi Wa

Friday - Went to downtown Prattvile. People got lost but they weren't really lost. People got mad. We took pictures. Went to Waffle House, it was packed, went to IHOP. Within 5 minutes there was a fight. Got free drinks, Mandy is an awesome waitress.

Saturday - Worked. Met up with everyone and played football. Went to IHOP in town. Most friends left, another came. The 4 of us left decided to take pictures at local places in town. Decided to go to Troy which is a 40 minute drive (and it was 1AM). Got there, walked around Troy University campus, took pictures, went to downtown Troy, saw some cool things, took more pictures. Saw creepy things. Started to drive home. Watched the sunrise.

Got home at 7 AM. Slept till 5 PM.

Next weekend, going to downtown Wetumpka (just north of here) or downtown Birmingham (about an hour and thirty minute drive). Weekend after we're going camping.

I. love. college.

Prattvile. In Alabama?! My cousin lives there! I'm there at least three times a year!

Yes. Next time you're there, get on Cobbs Ford road, go all the way down, past Best Buy, past Wal-Mart, and eventually you will get to downtown Prattvile. Take the turn, and on your left is a fountain and a dam and some old buildings. I was there. :)

Dude, I lived in Birmingham until I was like, four years old. Which has done wonders for my accent, let me tell you. Learning how to speak in the South and acquiring a southern accent in that time, then moving to the Way Way North and living there for like, fourteen more years. It's a grand time.

I'm sure I'll have all of my Linguistics major friends (OF WHICH I HAVE SO MANY FOR SOME REASON) examine that at some point.

See, it's quite the opposite for me. I've lived here for 17 out of 18 years of my life, yet nearly every year since I was born I've been visiting New Jersey, etc. to see family and such and I hardly have a typical Southern Accent. Of course, could also come from the fact that neither of my parents are from around here either so I grew up with Northern accents.

But I much prefer it up there. So much more to do. :P
