A Little Doggie

This is Lucky. Lucky, say "Hi" to all the nice readers!

Lucky had a haircut.

He doesn't look like himself anymore, with all that cropped hair, and I miss running my hands through that semi-coarse fur.

But now it's silky soft.

Besides, Lucky is still Lucky. His antics are forever the same.

He reminded us, recently, of why animals are considered to be dumb, at times.

A few nights ago, Annie the maid was heating up Lucky's everyday dinner of rice and chicken stew. He loves it, and showed that so as Lucky the dog waited ever so patiently, staring at the microwave.

So he's smart. He knew where dinner was.

The wait was getting a little too long for his likes. Annie moved, and he followed her.

When the timer chime went off, Annie took the bowl and, much to her surprise, Lucky was nowhere to be seen.

The news spread through the house: the dog was missing.

I thought he would be nearby. The gate was closed, so he was still in the premises.

My sisters, not satisfied, went outside to find him.

They found him - but in a most amusing state.

He was sitting patiently, looking at them most expectantly - inside the chicken run!

How he got there: the maid went in to feed the avians, and Lucky trailed in right after her. When she closed the gate, he did not make it out in time.

So they let the poor dog out of the coop, and I would think he charged over to his food bowl. Goodness knew how many crows and mynahs had had their fill from his meal.

But what surprised me the most was that he did not bother to let the others know where he was. It was pitch black dark, and he gave no audible signal, no bark or whine or whatsoever, to hone us in his direction.

Silly doggie.

But that's his charm. I'm sure you can believe it.

Klutzy and adorable creatures always worm their way into our hearts. Endearing eyes, a stumble here and there, and then this sweet stare at you, jowls closed, and a cock of the head to the side in a questioning glance.

Lucky has every inkling of the 'cute puppy' stereotype.

He isn't a puppy anymore, but he looks like one.

I have to look for that little runt. The poor boy is all by himself, since I'm the only master in the house. He may want a cuddle or two.

We have a Shih Tzu named Cookie who acts sort of like that. Whenever we go into the kitchen, he sits in the middle of the room, waiting for a snack. Heh, small, silly dogs are always fun. ^_^

I'm not a dog person, but some dogs I'm OK with. Never know until I meet them. Lucky's on probation until you tell me more about him.

Is that your dog? He is so cute! Yeah, I have a big dog named Raiu and he acts like that. He looks kind of mean but he's really a big old chicken. Speaking of chickens, that's funny how your dog got stuck in the coop. :P Yay for doggies.
