Kicking out the guitarist/vocalist leaves us without a primary vocalist. It's like kicking Gilmour or Waters out of Pink Floyd, if you will. You have the other, but it's not quite the same thing. Plus he's the one I seem to get along with. I kick the other out and we're out a drummer because the drummer invited him.
