Romance, cards, and "enough sugar to send a diabetic into shock." Is that what Valentine's Day has come to be? (Let's not forget there's enough mushy specials to make the most stoic person gag.) Why do we need or have only one day a year set aside to express love toward each other, even just toward our fellow humans?

 

Oh well, it's one of the five major shopping days I look forward to... sort of. Actually, it's more like February 15, July 5, November 1, December 26, and the day after Easter because, hey, that 50% off junk food isn't going to buy itself.

 

It was yummy

In the tummy

But call the doctor

Because now I ache.

No more sweets

Will I take.

 

Happy Valentine's Day, everybody. Here's to your dental and doctor's bills' not outweighing your income!

Old- Holding hands to remind yourself who you're with

 

Romantic- Lost in her eyes

Old- Lost in your own house

 

Romantic- Candlelight dinner because you can

Old- Candlelight dinner because the power's out

 

Romantic- Staring longingly at each other

Old- Staring because you can't remember each other's name

 

Romantic- Whispering sweet nothings in the ear

Old- Shouting incoherent somethings in the ear
