How funny is it that Lego says purple is dead, but it's still showing up in new sets?

Maybe they heard a million voices cry out in agony?

I like those "Build Your ARMY!!!" packs.

Look at that Stormtrooper one... you buy it for like 11-12bucks and can then turn around and sell the black trooper on a site I cannot name for like 7.

It's like... really cheap sets. : p

I'm still skeptical that when they said that they were referring to all types of purple. Even if they were, perhaps they only meant they'd just abandon the use of their current formulas for purple parts and try a new formula that maintains the integrity of the piece and the color without a major change in the appearance. Or, alternatively, maybe they're not giving up purple until they've used up all the purple plastic pellets they've still got in their factories. There's several reasons they could still be using purple, and I hope whatever reason it is offers hope for more purple parts in the future.

Anyway, I don't get the Assassin Droids Battle Pack. Probably because assassins rarely go into battle.

In Bunda's blog Omi says, "Violet Purple will still be made. Just no more classic purple."

This info probably comes from Bink, but I don't know.

Maybe trans-purple is OK since it's made with polycarbonate instead of ABS? It is a stronger plastic, after all.
