In Relation To That Thing About A Self-recorded Ep...
I've finally got some solid stuff down on how it should be.
"Marco Normal - The Sonic Asylum"
Marco Normal would be the false name I'll likely be publishing it under to avoid being associated with my current band in which I'm using my real name with since it's taking a very different direction, and The Sonic Asylum would be the title I intend to give it. Despite the sound, it's actually mainly focused on blues and rock(with a bit of punk thrown in) more than the genres one would associate "Sonic Asylum" with.
Current tracklist(Very much subject to change depending on how songwriting goes. All songs original and self written except where noted);
1. Hourglass sunrise
2. Close your eyes(into my arms)
3. For Granted
4. Tribal Song
5. Sonar clip #909
6. Intermission
7. (Tentative) House Of The Rising Sun(Traditional)
8. Whisked Away
9. Feedback
10. (Tentative) Internet Song
11. It's All Over Now(Cover based on the Stones version), or, if I end up not being able to get fee-free rights to record this cover, 7 AM Moonrise
Price is yet to be determined(It depends on CD Baby's policies and such), but I'm hoping for $5 if I go with a 5-song EP and just record five, or $10 if I record all eleven.
If anyone's interested, I'll be happy to send you a PM with a link to it if and when it's up.
And for those who'd like to hear it live, there will be, with any luck, an ensuing tour, though depending on whether I have my license by then, local laws, and how reliable a backing band I get(or how easy to set up of a backing track-device-thing I get if I decide to go the Buckethead route), it will either be statewide, coastal with a few shows right near the border in Canada, or as far as Texas.
Wish me luck. And yes I am very serious about this. I do intend to keep a dayjob though.
