AWWWWRIGHT STAR TREK! :D

IT WAS AWESOME. TOTALLY WORTH IT.

 

It reminded me why I adore everyone in the Original Series to death. It got it. It got what makes the series awesome. That's the best way you please the fans and make new ones. By keeping your eye on why so many people like it. I really hope it makes like, a bazillion bucks so that we can get a TV series with the same actors, doing these same roles and being AWESOME.

It also reminded me why Kirk is my favorite captain, keeping all the original reasons and replacing "because William Shatner is a hilariously bad actor" with "BECAUSE HE IS AS AWESOME AS HE THINKS HE IS AWRIIGHT!"

 

Also, I hereby will put it out in the open that I am a hardcore fangirl for every single man aboard the Enterprise, and that if I got a chance with any of them, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I would also totally be down with joining Starfleet and would be awesome there, sometimes. Because they totally would need xenoanthropologists. (If that makes sense.)

And it's official that Movieverse Kirk/Spock is the new Han/Leia. What this makes Spock/Uhura, I'm not entirely sure.

Oh, and I went in uniform =P

I WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN UNIFORM IN TIME, DESPITE INTENTIONS TO DO SO. I was also unable to see it at midnight when it was released, since I had awful awful finals the next day. So yeah. But rest assured, I shall find the miniskirt, and I will wear it everywhere and pretend to be a female Captain Kirk all the time, and annoy everyone I meet!

New uniform costumes are starting to pop up around the interwebz

 

I'm still waiting for my official shirt THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO COME YESTERDAY (not that I'm bitter) so a home-made one had to do for the opening night...

 

I still can't wait for my shirt to come though =P

But instead of a TV series, aren't they making this a movie series? They certainly should. It'd be better than TV.

This ship could go in interesting and entertaining directions. (Not the Enterprise, the slash one.) But I'd have to watch the movie again with it in mind to properly assess it.

 

But I -did- like this movie a lot more than I had expected to, being generally not interested in Star Trek as I am. It was fun.
