We Didn't Start The Fire
Probably the one I put the most effort into. I wanted the world to be surrounded by flames, as suggested by the song... and I included the twin character there because his weapons are Fire-Balls, basically handheld orbs that shoot fire. It seems appropriate. Anyway, the flames were a little tricky, and I still don't think I got a natural curve to them. The globe is cool... I was able to draw all that geography without a resource map.. and I included various little details, including but not limited to Hudson's Bay, Baffin Island, Greenland, Iceland, England, Ireland, Florida, Cuba, the Yucatan, Baja California, and more. While it doesn't mesh seamlessly, the vibrant colors really contrast each other, and the night sky background really makes it pop out.
Are You Gonna Be My Girl?
This turned out cute. I wanted to have it like some sort of dance sequence, where she's kind of leaning back and holding onto him for support. Somehow that worked out better than I expected. Next step; get the same kind of cuteness in a real life situation...
Hungry Like the Wolf
The concept is right out of the song's music video... except there wasn't a wolf, only one of the band members. Anyway, the running girl is okay, not great. I'm able to freehand howling wolves pretty well, but I lost something on the vector artwork... not nearly as intimidating. However, I like PowerPoint's default moon image.
Dead Man's Party
This is a concept from one of my doodles that I thought would go with this song. Note that there are only two fingers... since the rest of my characters have the traditional clawed Lego hands, I decided to keep to that when making the bones. Sure, I could've tried to aim it more to those of the Lego skeletons, but it looks interesting. Now to write a story where that somehow happens.
Horoscope For Today
This is the other twin, falling out of an opened window. It's a basic design, but I like the color for the glass shards... again, nicer than I expected. Note, he's only defenstrating himself because that's what the song predicts he'll do. Besides, there are probably bad guys with guns inside, and he'll find some way to check his fall. (His weapons are Ice-Balls, which, as you could guess, can shoot ice)
Story of My Life
A basic hold up scene. Basically, I had a good plan, but it didn't go right, because the guard snuck up behind me and caught my with his flashlight-like laser gun.
Already Gone
Great song, and this pict doesn't do it justice. I wanted the guy to be flying away in a jetpack, but I have trouble drawing side views with jetpacks... looks tacky. I tried to make up for it with a nice background (and a default sun image) but there's nothing to distract you from the weird flying guy. Oh well.
Won't Back Down
Obviously I won't back down. That includes to shadowy silhouettes of tanks and helicopters that are firing lasers. (Who they're firing at, I dunno, because they aren't aiming at me.) Good thing my sword reflects lasers. Too bad there's nothing really great in this one.
