Why Is It Like This?

*DWAN*

Sometimes I wonder why I even post my art here because it seems as though noone sees it. I mean I'm not trying to be the center of attention or anything but a little recognition every now and then would be really motivating. This is partially another reason why I haven't been on bzp as much as I used to be. Give me some feedback, comments, and constructive criticism on some of my drawings. I post them here for that very reason. I'm trying to improve but I can't if I don't know what's wrong with my art.

So anyway...here are some drawings I made a while ago but decided I could show them now.

This is a stylized edit of a drawing I did for biotech that Iruini Nuva made. The image I drew of this is actually much more detailed(but I can't show the original to you)

Hey look it's concept art of Zaras from that comic I made back in 2006. I've been thinking about remaking it but i don't think anyone's interested in an alien lizard lady going on adventures through space with her giant robotic friend trying to solve mysteries...

Uh...yeah. So if you like my art/concept stories, let me know. Even if you DON'T like them let me hear your opinions on how i can improve them.

Sorry that you're so down about the lack of responses. I only browse through the blogs once in a while, so most of you previous posts I hadn't even seen until today. Your art is really good and realistic. I love the eye you've drawn. Creepy, but really cool. I love the shading you did for it as well. The eye doesn't look flat and has a sort of depth to it. Same with the mouth. The mouth looks really even and proportioned and the shading on the lips look really good. Have you done a full detailed portrait of this character, or is she still in the sketch & design phase?

I'm curious about Gali. (Or the kakama, if it isn't Gali) It looks really good. It's obvious what it is, even though it's not super crisp and outlined like most art. I can't wait to see the version you can't yet show us.

That's all I can think of to say at the moment. These are quite good, really. Out of curiosity, have you seen any of Lee Hannan's art? You seem to have drawn a lot of portraits lately (At least judging by what I've seen in your blog) and Lee Hannan is a really good portrait artist who has written several really good books about the subject. She's one of my favorites, because she writes really clearly and gives good instructions, but encourages experimenting and trying new techniques and approaches to drawing. You might try looking up some of her books at the library or something if you haven't already.

I've always had a fascination with using visors on masks, though I generally like to see the visor have a different tint or color than the mask.

Since I have no idea who this character is, I can't say much about him. Hopefully he's not based off of "Master Chief" or any other Halo figures. It might be more clear if you made him another color.

Thanks, Jithra. She's supposed to be kinda creepy but as the story goes on you start to realize she's one of the most normal looking aliens in the universe lol. I have done a full body drawing of her in color pencils about a two years ago and put it up on bzp. but I've since removed it so noone can take my designs until I have the comic up and running on a website somewhere. But since I've gotten my wacom pen tablet I've gone back to the drawing board and have started to redesign the style of the comic and characters. I'd love to tell you more about the story over a private message or something if you're interested. But this project, like the Dwan comic i have plotted out, needs a good writer to help me flesh out the universe. I'm just a concept guy really, and I don't think I could do the story as well as it can be.

It's not gali, it's actually a matoran form of the kaukau being worn by-*gets silenced by Iruini nuva*, well lets just say it has a lot to do with Biotech's game that's already released. ; )

I don't think i have heard of Lee Hannan. Though, I have a book on lifelike drawing by Lee Hammond that i got for Christmas a few years ago. I really didn't learn how to draw from a book or by lessons. I just started drawing after my sister showed me how to make a stick figure when I was 6, lol. But I've been developing my abilities through practice. I might write a guide on how I draw but I'm not sure how well it'd turn out.

@ leynok, Seriously, is everything with a visor going to be compared to halo? It's a Kaukau, the great mask of underwater breathing. Though, I've modified it to fit my style and to appear as a matoran form.
