Mask Rush

Intro:
Hello, and welcome to the topic of my first actual completed game on BZPower. Mask Rush is a retro-themed arcade shooter, inspired by Geometry Wars. It describes the tale of the first year of Bionicle, when the Toa Mata first arrive at the island of Mata Nui, defeat the Rahi and ultimately, Makuta in his "Void" form. Be warned, though, you will have to fight through 50 waves of ever-increasing difficulty before you even have the chance of beating Makuta.

The Beta has ended, and the Final Version has been posted as a link.

Controls:
WASD: Movement. Different Toa have different speeds and maneuverability.
Left Mouse Button: Shoot. Different Toa have different attacks.
Ctrl: Change Toa
Space: 'Bomb'. While not in the official canon, this will prove invaluable to your survival. Be warned, though, you only have 3 of them before you are out, and there is no way to gain more. These will destroy every enemy on the map, but will also destroy powerups.
Escape: Pause. You can end the game by returning to the main menu and exiting.

Enemies:
Fikou: Typical, weak. Will often come in large numbers.
Nui-Rama: Typical, weak, but difficult to hit. Will often come in large numbers.
Nui-Kopen: Bigger and stronger versions of the Nui-Rama.
Kane-Ra: Be warned, this strong Rahi will charge at you from the opposite side of the map. Drops Amana-Volo spheres.
Muaka: This Rahi will lunge at you if you are foolish enough to get too close. Drops Amana-Volo spheres.
Kofo-Jaga: Relatively weak, but will shoot at you.
Nui-Jaga: Bigger and stronger than the Kofo-Jaga, and will shoot 3 rounds. Drops Amana-Volo spheres.
Makuta: If you find that your attacks do not do any damage, here is a hint. Think of what the Toa Mata did in order to defeat Makuta in the official canon.

Energy:
In order to gain elemental energy, simply accurately hit an enemy. The amount of energy you have is shown by the glow around your mask. There are 5 tiers of power, each stronger than the last. The fifth unleashes a short burst that typically destroys everything in its path. You will know when you've gotten to the fifth tier by the fact that the glow around your mask becomes much brighter.

You can pick up Kanohi of Elemental Energy that randomly spawn around the map for an instant full tier of elemental energy. Be warned, it will not last long.

Amana-Volo spheres (dropped by stronger opponents) heal 10% of your total health.
