Ballom Nom Nom Posted September 22, 2009 Let me again express how much I dislike this kind of map. Also, gigantic images kill people. Resize please. ~B~ Quote Link to comment
BioGio Posted September 22, 2009 Although I'm not a big fan of the idea that the Matoran Universe is located in the body of a robot, this looks OK. However, there are quite a few problems I have with the map: None of the Southern Islands (being "only fit for stone rats") were claimed by the Barraki, so this can't be canonical. Additionally, Mata Nui's arms aren't filled with islands, unlike his legs. Finally, the right (Mata Nui's left) side is almost empty, although some blank space may be good for later C.I.R.C.L.E. expansion. ~ BioGaia Quote Link to comment
ChocoLvr13 Posted September 22, 2009 Actually, according to the official map of the Matoran Universe, there are islands in his arms. Quote Link to comment
BioGio Posted September 22, 2009 Oops, I meant that this map's arms are only partially filled, although I think that they should be filled completely. ~ BioGaia Quote Link to comment
Toa_Ausar Posted September 22, 2009 Let me provide the following example to refute the "Kindgoms in the Southern Islands are Too Big" Arguement:Just because vast expanses of Siberia are uninhabitable doesn't mean that Russia is willing to relinquish the territory, does it? Anyway, the ultimate goal of making this cartograph is to show geographical orientation of the many locations discussed within the various C.I.R.C.L.E. storylines, not to fill in all the space simply for the sake of filling in all the space. ~ Åusår*** Kemet Nui Epic ~ Review ~ Inhabitants *** Quote Link to comment
BioGio Posted September 22, 2009 OK, Toa_Ausar, that makes sense, however the fact that people typically claim even the most useless land is a pointless arguement unless you want to contradict the official storyline. To quote from BS01, During the reign of the League of Six Kingdoms, the Barraki did not capture many of the islands, due to the fact that they were strategically worthless. So it really doesn't make any sense that Carapar and Takadox would take all of the Southern Islands. Meanwhile, Pridak acutally claimed Botar's home Island, so this map is slightly factually flawed. Additionally, I simply thought that the empty arms looked . . . odd, but it's reasonable. I just thought that the arms were a bit too long for so few Islands. ~ BioGaia Quote Link to comment
ChocoLvr13 Posted September 26, 2009 I can see why you think that-- The domes don't exactly go to the fingertips. But it gets the job done, with a nice style. Quote Link to comment
Kohila Posted September 26, 2009 Basically what I did here was I took the Original Kingdoms Map by Toa_Ausar and edited it with a very nice and very free IEP called "GIMP". I cleaned the map up a lot and made the entire map look more robot-like, while still keeping true to the Kingdoms' sections. Overall, I'm pleased with the result. Also, all discussion about dome placement's shouldn't go to me; Toa_Ausar designed the map while I just colorized it! ~Kohilå*** Spirit Fable Epic ~ Review *** Quote Link to comment
