Dust Storm

This is awesome. Sydney's going through a dust storm. The sky is ORANGE. REALLY bright orange. It's incredible.

I'll get photos up soon.

Sydneysiders, look outside!

Rav

EDIT: Some photos: They're large, so links.

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Toa-Vakama-...rm/s6300132.jpg The sky. I took a pic of straight up.

The orange effect will apparantly clear as the sun rises, but the dust will stay.

Photos taken between 6:30 and 7AM my time

We got a dust storm in Canberra yesterday, possibly the same one, except this one was supremely wimpy. In all the orange, I could still see blue sky, and I could actually still breathe. That said, the lake near my school is now muddy. It's hilarious.

Yep, same one. It was massive.

And isn't there only one lake in Canberra? :P

Ah, it's nice to be able to breathe without choking...

Nope. We have Lake Ginninderra in the north (the lake in question), Lake Burley Griffin in the centre, and Lake Tuggeranong in the south.

lol, when I went with school I only saw one.

I think the reason you got it milder was that it hit you in the night, and me in the morning. You would have gotten the same level of storm, it cleared out in Sydney by the end of the day, so you must have had it hit early in the night. Too bad you guys didn't get the orange sky though...
