Well, this sucks.

Turns out that those über-cheap Sapphire and LeafGreen games that I got the other day were Asian bootlegs. Just this morning I loaded up Sapphire and an error message popped up, stating: "The save file has been deleted..."

Now, I know for a fact that I hadn't done anything wrong. I didn't turn it off when it was saving; I didn't hack it; nothing. I then compared the game pak to that of my store-bought version of Ruby: The logos and copyrights are misplaced; it's missing the indented 3-digit authentication number; and the sticker isn't reflective, like how the one on Ruby is.

So, what stinks is that I wasted my money and now I'm going to have to hunt down real versions of the games. The bootlegs were really cheap, though, so at least it wasn't a huge loss on my part.

Not so long ago, I was browsing eBay for a copy of FireRed. Almost every copy of the game on there was an obvious bootleg. I also suspect that my copy of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (also bought on eBay) is bootlegged. So yeah, I know how badly that sucks.
