It's been sleeting all day today, and now it's snowing! Everything's coated in ice with a predicted 6 to 8 inches in snow. Almost everything's going to be closed tomorrow, so we can pretty much consider ourselves stranded.

 

How do I feel about that?

Kopaka's Ice Engineering

I remember my senior year of high school (1997), a mid-January ice storm shut down everything in the area. See, it was one of those rare times that the ground temperature got below 45°F, and though it wasn't much outside of bridges and tree limbs, there were patches of ice, that no one knows how to drive on in a safe manner.

 

The ice coating on the hurricane fences and pine needles was beautiful, even though the skies were gray and the power was out for 50 hours (give or take 2 minutes), ruining some stuff in the freezer.
