You know what? I'd go back to about 12,000 years ago, armed with a flashlight, an iPod, a bag of skittles, and a flamethrower. I'd then proceed to harass some early humans with the flashlight and skittles, play music loud on the iPod, and then light all the trees around them on fire with the flamethrower, before leaving it all right there in front of them and leaving.

 

No, scratch that. Go back to 12,000 years ago with a big crate full of guns, and just leave it there. Not a word spoken, just let them figure it out.

Not quite - they wouldn't shoot everybody. They'd shoot someone (maybe two or three people) accidentally, and then figure out the issue. Besides, you're not giving Homo Neanderthalensis enough credit - their brains were actually bigger than ours, you know.

 

Yes, But brain size doesn't alway mean Cleverness. Remember Dolphins? But Yes, they wouldn't shoot everybody.

Of course not, dolphins have no fingers and you could never fire a gun with flippers.
