I want a waffle maker for my dorm room kitchen. It'll be awesome.

I told my family that, hinting at Christmas, and my dad said I should buy the family a new one (because ours is broken) and he'll buy me one and I can take the best back to school. Win/win, more or less in a sense.

(I hope he was serious because this'll be really cool. And if not then I'll laugh internally upon him opening it Christmas morning and being like "oh".)

Anyway, I'm looking for waffle makers on Amazon and Target websites, and anything from $35-$70 has bad reviews about them breaking after a few uses. Granted, there are also reviews about them working wonderfully.

So I'm at a standstill right now. Ho hum. Don't know what you can do to help me but I thought I'd vent my troubles while I have even more troubles bundled up inside me. (Actually I'm talking to a friend about that.)
