I'm Being Exhumed... By Verse
Exhumed by Verse is this local duo that does acoustic bass, tracks, hand percussion, and poetry over top. They played at the music store where I worked a week ago.
The first two seconds into their gig and I wanted to pour molten lead into my ears and pack the wounds with salt.
The following are the actual words to one of their "songs." Picture this in the shaky, adolescent-sounding, lisped voice of the acoustic bass player as he plays around in a minor key on a single string while hitting an E in the bass and holding it for 847 bars.
Numerical values, trailing and abating electrically illuminated particles, bring this to an individual daily discussion....
...what?
Exquisite and unordinary fixation of theory, culminating to fatual properties, tightly defines this verbiage of the gorgeous giving.
verbiage, i'll say
One unfathomably distant highest siren string--energized unknowingly--playing to and striking for thoughts and concepts now so utterly quiet. And it all is as if the carrying world never knew.
but only as if, mind you
So they continue conversations and crying to credit the work completed--the talks that are able to progress here--and the sight of respecting by witnessing faint light beyond finite noise. The strength of living (anew) in the totality of that fallen quiet--marked against one distant siren string.
I couldn't have said it better myself, Exhumed by Verse.
Ladies and gentlemen, Exhumed by Verse! Molten lead is available from the ushers at the doors (you'll have to use your own salt, though).
