In other news, I returned from my trip to Helsinki about 24 hours ago. It was a blast. B) Went to a lovely Christmas party with some "New Age" types, which included a group meditation. Reconnected with a dear adventuring friend from the Seattle, WA area, spent the night at his place. Went to the local Laestadian church/hangout, chatted with my ex-gf's sister there. Went to a friend-of-a-friend's place to mingle with some cool and interesting young people from the church, had some highly interesting and fun conversations there. Spent the second night at my cousin's place whom I hadn't seen in quite a while, had some rather deep discussions with him, extending to the next day, when we went out for tea before I boarded the train for home. All in all, a very worthwhile and enriching little jaunt, socially and otherwise. I'm glad I trusted my inner guidance and splurged on the train tickets instead of giving all that up based on sheer economic considerations. Anyway, the train on the way back ended up being over two hours late, so the company has to reimburse half of my ticket!

Also, on the train ride home, I talked to a nice girl about runes and dowsing and life. 'Twas very much worth the aggravation of the seven-hour trip lasting nine hours because of technical problems, without which I never would have spoken to her.

(I just realized that my new display name may appear to be a rip-off of a certain very cool, canonized co-author named John. I assure you that that was not my intent. My intent is to be a disciple of Love itself, not a wannabe of some other disciple.)
