Why Christmas Day Is Awesome

On all the days and weeks leading up to Christmas, there is traditionally a huge political "War On Christmas", lots of media commentary on how people should be celebrating the holiday, tons of advertising, materialistic thoughts, traffic, crowded mall parking lots, and the same old jingles playing on the radio over and over and over.

 

But on Christmas day, it all ends (except maybe the jingles). Just like that. And people can finally take the time to think about what this holiday is really about, and have time with their families.

 

And we Jews get to sleep in, go see movies, and eat chinese food. :D

Exactly. Christmas has always been "just another day" for us. xP When I was younger, I always walked in bewilderment when with my parents, wondering why the heck everybody is so obsessed with everything and moving so quickly. I think I almost thought it was a disease or something. =P

Christmas day for me is just that special time to have a mindset to remind you that everything is gunna be okay, I have great friends and family, and to really remind yourself that giving is much more important than getting. I love all that Christmas cheer and holiday stuff, but for me it's can be a day that can be very philosophical and from here onto New Years really get my life in order.
