Halfway Home
Mind you, that's me, not the US soccer team: they're coming all the way home.
Man, it hurt to follow those three games here at work: a GameCenter is not a television.
Quick note: the Classic Cobb chopped flatbread salad I just got from Quizno's was the best salad I've had in 2 months. (Only salad I've had in 2 months, maybe that's why I have this gut...)
Yesterday's moving list:
- Most of my hanging clothes (65 shirts, 15 pairs of pants)
- set of cutting boards
- set of really really sharp knives
- bandages
- 4 new glass tumblers my mom bought to replace some I lost to mold
- ...more bandages....
- Miniature food processor
- assorted pans that have yet to been used
Today's moving list
- 4 plates, 9 bowls, and 4 sets of silverware (minus 2 salad forks, 2 teaspoons, and a tablespoon) that were salvaged from Katrina
- 5 wooden skewers & a set of tongs
- other assorted nonstick serving flatware
- the rest of my hanging clothes (25 shirts, 5 pairs of pants, and the neckties)
- Two saucepans (with covers) that made it through Katrina
- George Foreman grill
- a pitcher for the strawberry lemonade I mentioned last entry
- 10 more ½-liter bottles of water
- 2 quarts of Powerade
- 4 quarts of Gatorade (Lemon-Lime/Strawberry X-factor...best flavor out there)
- 2 DVDs
- 2 bottles of cologne (one is an unopened Christmas gift, the other not been used since Katrina)
- most of my BIONICLE collection (Toa Olda, 2001 Turaga, and my 100 count Kanohi collection)
- 4 pairs of shoes, three of which I don't really wear anymore...
- 4 rolls of toilet paper
- and a bar of Irish Spring soap
A note about the soap: I'd left a bar of soap in the shower when I left to evacuate. I was happy to finally be able to replace it.
I say I'm halfway home: I'm less than half moved-in, but more than half-through the week of moving in, so I figure calling this "halfway" would work. I don't know about you all, but between skipping breakfast to load the car, skipping lunch (or eating it when I get back to the office, like I did today) to move stuff from car to apartment, and getting to bed late because I'm lining up the next day's 'shipment', I can't take much more of this moving.

P.S. next week I PROMISE to post something about the senior Democratic representative from Louisiana: the other category of my blog will not go unused.
