I know I can't be the only one who thought the bayonets on the mechguns in Avatar were a little rediculous, what with being so dinky in comparison to the guns they were attached to.

 

And also, why didn't the mechs have backup guns? Just, like, a hand-gun scaled up to fit or something.

 

still a GREAT movie, though.

Bayonets made sense to me.

 

You know what didn't?

 

The shank. Just... if they already have a knife on the end of the gun... why is there a shank? It didn't compute.

The combat knife? It's more manuverable and you have greater control over a blade that's closer to your wrist than one that's out on the end of a long beam you need two hands to hold. Which is another reason I thought the bayonets were redundant.
