Stars!

Just got Taha and Takanuva stars. Pretty nice sets. Very nostalgic. May post reviews on here later.

EDIT: Doing review now:

Tahu:

First of all, I'd like to state that when I pulled the lid off the canister, the gold Hau flew out of it, flooding me with nostalgia before I even took out the rest of the contents. :P

But onto the review: I assembled the set easily without the use of instructions, thanks to the star's incredibly simple Av-Matoran build. I was quite dissapointed to see the Agori/Shadow Matoran arm peices I have grown to hate so much. :( Seriously, words cannot describe how much I hate these arm peices. The new feet are quite cool, they reminded me of a mix of the Inika feet and Hordika feet. Surprisingly I had to put quite a bit of effort into putting the legs onto the ball joint connectors (or the old hand peices as some people call them). I can't figure out why, they seem like normal plus rod connectors to me. :???: The leg peices are the same leg peices used on the Av-Matoran, which I quite like compared to most of the other jointless legs. I also had chance to have my first proper look at the new armour peices. I was surprised to see how they fit perfectly into the space next to the raised parts of the Av-Matoran torso. Of course another thing that caught my eye was the flame sword. I can kind of see the resemblance to the original one when it comes to the handle. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I never purchased Ackar, but is it the same peice that was used with him? The thing I hate most about the set (aside from the arms) is the hilt. The unnesersary use of a Nuva shoulder pad as a hilt. WHY?! It clashes with the colour scheme and I thing the sword looks a lot better without it. I don't mind it with the golden Tahu, but I really hate it then used normally. It looks way too out of proportion as well. The choice of eye colour is something that has been critiscised a lot, but I quite like it. I would have prefered the orange eys, for nostalgia's sake, but the green eyes give it a sence of originality I feel. And finally, the mask. Made to look like the Hau, but smaller and with a plus rod, and I think they have done a good job. It was a good idea to make it smaller to not make it look out of proportion, and they had to put the plus rod on obviously. I don't think I would use it much in MoCs though, unless I am building a small one or one that needs a plus rod. And they did a good job of making it look the same, so who can complain?

When it comes to posability and playing, it's not a good set at all. It's posability is incredibly limeted as it has no elbows or knees. And the arms are always in a bent postion because of THOSE STUPID ARMS!! Playabilty is limeted too for the same reasons.

Overall, I have to reccomend it; it's our last red set and a remake of the first character we ever saw. Plus it is an ok set after all. The only bad things about it really are the hilt and the agori arms. I'd make it your first set definitley, unless you're like me and one of the other stars happens to be your favorite character (Takanuva ftw). Definitely get it. Especially if your a red set fan, it's the last your gonna see of them.

Takanuva:

My favorite character ever since 2001. I knew I had to get him first because of this. Most of the features I have covered in Tahu as the two sets are very similar. The main differences are; The arms ( :happydance: ), which are the Av Matoran limbs like Tahu's legs with Nuva shoulder pads on the sides. The weapons, which are long plus rods and Av Matoran blades, combined on his hands to form two staffs. And of course the mask, which is an original mold Avokhii.

Posability is pretty much the same as Tahu but improved a little as he has better arms.

So pretty much the same as Tahu but with the listed differences. I recomend him likewise.

Hope you enjoyed my reviews. Expect to see the rest of the stars reviewed too.
