Home Again

After seven days of couch surfing at relatives houses I’m finally home again. If you haven’t been following this blog and been under a rock, the big snowstorm on the east took out our power so we had to leave our house.

We stayed at my grandma’s but her house wasn’t in the best of shape, and it finally went out too. Luckily I went to my cousin’s house the day her house went, and my family stayed at another family member’s house. I spent two days at my grandma’s and five with my cousin’s and their dad.

There was a bit of drama there too. Their power went out one night, but it was back on at 4am. The house never got cold though, it stayed around 60 degrees. My uncle got hurt at work though and had to have surgery to have a metal bit out of his arm. He was quite loopy on the drugs they gave him last night. Technically he wasn’t or shouldn’t have been driving, but he had to get his paycheck today. I was able to mail out my scholarship package since we rode to town with him.

I’m very thankful for them letting me stay with them for so long. It is nice to be home again, but the drama/issues here aren’t fun to be around. I’m glad I was able to stay with my cousins and not have to listen to my immediate family’s hustle and bustle. I wasn’t even in my sister’s car a minute and I started to hear everything that had gone on.

I’ve tasted what it would be like to get away from my family, and I have to say I quite like it. Even if I was staying with relatives, there was a sense of freedom and nothing tying me down.

Anyway, we have to get a new fridge since our old one got ruined by the power being out so long. We planned on buying a new one soon anyways, there goes the income tax money~

I finished unpacking finally, I need to go work on my drawing that is due tomorrow. It is nice being back in my environment… although I have a rather large patch of candle wax to get out of my carpet from last weekend when I was drawing with candles... I didn’t see the wax going off the plate because I was focusing on my drawing.
