Hmmm. This entry sounded so much better in my head last night, when I actually knew what I wanted to write about.

Family & Friends

It isn’t just family and it isn’t just friends. It is Family and Friends. People need friends outside of their family; it is just part of the natural order right? I have come to realize that you really do need friends. Everyone I know online is great and fills the void of actual companionship, but there is still something missing from the friendship. There isn’t that sense of hanging out and everything that comes from it.

Besides everyone here on BZP and other friends I have online, that last time I have been out with a friend is… The last time I have been with a friend in person… The last time I was around anyone I remotely thought of as friends… It has been so long I could not even tell you the exact time measurement. Four years would be a good rough estimate though. I have had a handful of chance encounters with people I know, but that is for the entire time period. A handful of friends in four years.

It is one thing to have four friends you are always around, but to only see four of your friends randomly over many years is… lonely.

This blog is for any of the other loners out there. Online friends are great but I realize how important real life friends are. It is like a missing piece of the puzzle that I didn’t know was missing.
