I haven't used PicToBrick, but does it convert pixel by pixel to the nearest mosaic colour, or is it able to "checker" pixels to create colours not in the original mosaic colours? (A checker pattern of red and black pixels will appear dark red.)

If you want, tell me the colours you're using, the dimensions of the mosaic, and some pictures, and I'll see what I can do for you.

We're using black, white, dark and light grey, yellow, red, blue, and green.

We are, however, tempted to move on to other colors that appear as 1x1 bricks, although they are more costly, because that would give us a few more options.

Also, how big (in studs) do you want the mosaics to be?

And to answer your first question, I have not tried a "checker" pattern, because 1) I don't know how to do that and 2) I thought it would in trying to blend colors.

As for greys: new.

The mosaics will be using 32x32 baseplates. Right now we are gearing for a few big squares of pictures of 3x3 baseplates. For example: 96x96 pixels/studs of Kopaka's Akaku, or Tuurahk's head, etc.
