I Need Some Techno Music

Watashi Wa

Alright guys,

I'm looking for some good ambient techno/remix albums. I like progressive metalcore, etc. and Bring Me the Horizon's Suicide Season Cut up! is a perfect example of what I like.

I also need some techno music (a la Daft Punk) that I can play while I study/relax.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. :)

Hoo boy! :D

Aarmin van Buuren's album Shivers flagship track, Zocalo, is simply lovely and I use it to relax a lot, but 10 Years is basically a compilation of his top tracks, and boy, lemme tell you, it has some ammmazing tracks in it.

ATB's album No Silence is also awesome, and it's interesting cuz the tracks seamlessly drift from one to another. It has good styles, since there are techno to ambient to vocal songs all in one album, which makes it great for relaxing.

Now or Never by DJ Shah is a bittersweet song with a low key and decent beat, soft voice serenading you through the story told in it. I never get tired of it.

DJ Tiesto made some really awesome songs on his newest album, Kaleidoscope, and my favorites are Here on Earth and Feel It In My Bones. Other songs not on his album but by him, such as a personal pick In The Dark, featuring Christian Burns, is also really great.

I'm sure there are a ton more but I'm too tired to think of them tonight. :P

Oh man, "Suicide Season: Cut Up!" was amazing.

The remix of The Comedown was so wonderfully done, I cannot even describe it in human words.

Unfortunately, I have no other techno artists for you. :(

Boards of Canada is pretty much one of my favorite electronic bands. They aren't techno by any stretch, they're more ambient than anything else. But they are completely awesome. As for album? Um, I guess Geogaddi's a good place to start, but anything they've got is good.

Oh, and get Tarot Sport by F*** Buttons. Don't be scared off by the somewhat vulgar name. It's bloody epic.

And I guess Amon Tobin counts, though he's got more of an acoustic jazzy sort of thing to him. But maaaan, Amon Tobin is my favorite hanging around music ever. Get Bricolage! NOW!

And Thievery Corporation. They kinda border even on lounge, but it's so smooooooth. I like The Mirror Conspiracy a lot.

Gugh, if you asked me for a really specific kind of folk music, I'd probably be able to deliver better.

Kid A by Radiohead is creepy, and ambient, but entirely essential sometimes to my relaxation. I recommend it.
