4 Hours & 100 Miles Later
Let’s just say my sister wasn’t too ecstatic. When I thought the flight was getting in today, my sister had to leave work early so we could be at the airport on time. When we got there it was early so we drove around and around, then when we never saw anyone I decided to go in and wait at the baggage. Still no one, despite the flight was on time and the baggage was coming down the shoot.
I asked the clerk to look up the name and they had none on record… I had the name paged… and nothing happened. My sister came in to help and… still no luck. Luckily she has a blackberry, so I was using it to track down whatever information I could but with no results. Finally I got a reply… the flight isn’t until tomorrow.
Man, my sister stormed out of there and drove rather fast after that.
Miscommunication is really bad sometimes. On the upside, my Mom is off tomorrow and we don’t have to worry about getting to the airport.
All of this did make me realize something, despite being so connected to people online. When you get out there and can’t reach anyone… you really feel alone and helpless. Hmm, I’m twenty years old, soon to be twenty-one. Maybe it is time I got a license, car, and cell phone?
Hopefully, when we leave again in an hour things will actually work right this time around.
