The Buzz About Hero Factory.

A lot of people really like HF here, Its not that I mind at all, its just not that appealing to me...

but thats just me, you are all entitled to your own opinion here *prepares to get shot down by BZPers again*

I mean I do like it somewhat though, I'm not sure whether to spend my money on it as I was thinking of getting a set to "test the waters"

here is what I like about it.

-It fixes a lot of aesthetic set flaws (thin torsos on small sets, makes av-toran builds look good)

-It looks good aesthetically and has its own style somewhat different from Bionicle (Unique pieces that would fit mainly in Hero Factory-related creations.

-The story leaves A LOT of room for development.

-It comes with loads of new pieces/recolors that look very well designed (Surge's weapons, Corroder's Mask Helmet, black/silver Glatorian hand))

-It's pieces spark interest in MOCing (most Bionicle fans that are MOCers will be interested in this)

-and I'm not sure abou this one, but fixes the breaking joint problems that the 2008-2010 joints had.

here is what I dislike about it.

-Story is too simple (may be a pro to some so I'll kinda ignore this one)

-Sets are too simple/pricey for price-to-parts (considering the economy I understand this, and the rising oil prices, but the villains have few pieces for the same price, Xplode has awkward lower arms, Meldown has his weapons as his lower arms, and Corroder can't move his elbows, Rotor also seems to be in between the size of a Canister and a Titan.)

Lets look at Corroder $12.99 USD 40 pieces, and compare that to Ackar $12.99 USD 55 pieces. obviously this isn't much of a change, but I'm going to be feeling it in my wallet for either line really, considering I really disliked the price increase of canister sets in 2008, and I dislike the heroes' prices as much as those of the Stars

-The last minor problem is those gun arms, I do not want to see any more of those, they limit articulation, are virtually useless for MOCing, and and look bad when seen from the hollow side, I don't understand why Lego couldn't have fleshed it out just a tiny bit on the other side, or make it fit over one of the limb pieces.

I think the pros outweigh the cons, and I'm very cost-conscious right now, so I'm curious if I should invest my money into these sets, and considering my age, I won't be playing with them, just building/storing/displaying them.

so should I invest some money into this?
