I have a book report due Thursday, and I wondered: Why are there book reports?

 

I dug up some very useful info about book reports, and on the news, they said that book reports should be banned because they are ruining the joys of reading books.

 

You with me or not?

I don't quite agree. I think they should just be made more like book reviews. You know, get rid of required classroom reading altogether, and instead require a good review of any book the student chooses.

 

You wanna read Hop on Pop? Go ahead, but you have a two page review on it due in two weeks. :P

 

See what I mean? The students' reviews would all be varied, and no longer would they have to have a story ruined by having other people explain it away.

 

And they could get rid of comprehension questions while they're at it.
