But once you're in 1955, expect to stay for a while, unless you can get the DeLaurean up to 88 miles per hour and manage to get 1.81 gigawatts of electricity into the flux-capacitor. The only other way to do that besides plutonium is a bolt of lightning, but unfortunately nobody knows exactly where or when one will strike.
