Concerning The Word Filter

Kakaru

So yesterday I had a blog entry edited for posting a picture of a carp, (as in the fish) which is apparently bypassing the word filter. I'm not sure if the rules have become really tight since I left or something, but this left me wondering.

Can I post a picture of a red herring?

Honestly, I've never had an issue with the Moderators or their decisions, but this struck me as absurd. I'm not trying to disrespect the Moderator who closed the blog entry, I'd just like to know the logic behind the decision. I personally use the phrase "carp" (as in the fish) in real life quite often, and I honestly don't make the connection between the two words. When I say carp, a picture of a fish pops up in my head, so if I use a picture of a fish to illustrate that, does it still count as an intentional act to bypass the word filter?

The reason it was removed is because people use the word "carp" as an intentional misspelling of a filtered word.

I don't know what your entry was, but if it was using the picture of a carp in a way to represent the filtered word, that's why it was removed.

I think red herrings are allowed. My innocent mind can't think of anything that's bad about them.

Or maybe goldfish.

Or Koi.

...

So what if I use other pictures to represent filtered words in a completely unrelated way? What if someone mistakes a rainbow trout for a carp?

Heck yes so I can do this?

Yeah, while you were gone, it got a little out of control.
