-The Mage Academy-

 

The Mage academy is a place dedicated to one thing. Teaching Toa to use their power to the best possible level. Members of this school are called Mages.

 

History: The Mage Academy is an important location, and in fact is the only reason Short Stories is still a forum. Over three hundred years ago, a Toa of fire named Fernon came up with the idea of the Mages. A group of Toa, trained to use every aspect of their power to the highest level of power possible, working for one purpose, to keep BZPower running, to aid any forum in need. At first however, Fernon's idea was denied permission to enact, as the admins were not happy about his one wish, for the Mages to have a high level of freedom, including the Admins having no power to either ban a Mage, or change their Proto.

But the Admins were not content with that, and, although in the end they granted what he wanted, they made sure there were loopholes for them to use, and use them they did, as Fernon appeared to be a threat to them, the had him banned, although they had no reason aside from offenses that they cooked up on the spot (Later found to be false by one of Fernon's successors), and had the rest of his council either banned or turned into suspended members.

Over the years the struggle continued, finally ending with two major things.

The Mages finally being granted their freedom.

And a deep hatred of the Admins building up in Short Stories.

 

Some hundred years later, a new threat appeared. A dozen members started to stir up anti Mage sentiment among members, and were on the verge of leading a massive mob on the Mage Academy wqhen they were stopped in a quite unusual way. A member named Zarayna assassinated them, and almost a dozen other members in the area, including a mage, who was Zelena, the current leader's closest friend.

 

Everyone expected Zarayna to be banned for that - as par the agreement the Admins had made with the Mages - but were surprised when he was awarded the rank of POBZPC for his saving of the Mages.

 

When the admins disappeared, and civil war raged, Short Stories was kept together, erecting walls around their forum to protect themselves from the outside evils. The Mages were key, calmly beating any attack made on the forum.

 

Then Artwork II was attacked by Artwork III, and Zarayna, now the leader of Short Stories, drew Short Stories into a war - despite the rules of Short Stories at this time - and even used Mages as soldiers, leading to the deaths of over a dozen of them.

 

This resentment built up more and more, until finally Zelena confronted Zarayna. What followed was worse then anything she had feared. practically a civil war erupted in the Mage's council, woith Zarayna getting half on his side, while the other three sided with Zelena. It finally came to blows, and Zarayna and his followers were imprisoned, with Zelena being forced to take over Short Stories, to keep it collapsing into anarchy.

-Elemental wall (Outer wall defenses)-

The Elemental wall is a series of forty or so foot tall pillars ringing the forum. Each pillar is charged with elemental power, creating a practically impassably wall, even for aircraft. Behind the walls is a long walkway, where many of the imported technology from Artworks II is placed, ranging from machine gun turrets - the bullets modified to be elementally charged - to missile launchers, to other weaponry, a lot of it styled after Xian weaponry.

There is a gate in the wall, where alone there is no elemental charge regularly, although it is designed to guard any aircraft from breaching. A psionics and Rode checkpoint is placed here as well as the regular.
