Hey There.
Hi, you guys.
Wow, it's been a while.... There is so much to write about. I'll start with the summer and move from there. When I "returned" this June, I thought being out of school would free up my time and allow me to spend some more time on this awesome website. Yeaaah, problem is, I wasn't done with school. This past summer, I took two online classes (Early American History and Macroeconomics) with the local community college. And then I also worked and went to Iowa with my dad. And then I went to "math camp" in the first three weeks of summer. I know, I'm such a nerd.
And then school started. And oh, did it start. My class schedule for the year includes: AP Literature, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus, Drama IV, Journalism III (Newspaper, of which I'm opinion editor), AP European History, and AP Statistics. It's not too bad, just a lot of studying. And it never really stops because there is always something I could be doing, y'know?
Newspaper is great. Being opinion editor, I get to "vent" (in a nice way) and design my section (which doesn't really look that special because I'm not too artistic.) But when it comes to layout week (when I remain after every day for two or so hours), it gets a little stressful. On top of that, I'm in Math league, which includes after school practices.
Being in drama, competitions aren't even a question. So back in October, I was privileged to perform contrasting monologues at a Thespians event. This was my last year to get a superior (the past two I've only gotten excellents) and by God's grace, I got a superior. I was SO happy. Honestly, you have no idea. So this means I'll be performing at States in a few months which is a chunky blend of excitement and nerves. But this week, my troupe and I will be performing at the Districts-wide One Acts. And it's a musical, Nunsense, which makes it slightly more difficult for me. I'm not really the singing and dancing type. Trying to learn choreography... I must look pretty dumb... and singing... hallelujah I only have to sing one line alone. But I'm excited for Thursday and Friday, and maybe a little nervous. I'm just scared I'll screw up and the other seven members of the cast will get mad at me......
I've officially applied to college; now I'm I just praying I'll be accepted. However, if I'm to go to college, I'll have to come by some money. So I've started the scholarship war; I've already applied for six.
Off the school note... wait, what else have I been doing besides school? I've discovered Wheel of Time to be an AMAZING series. To anyone out there who's looking for a good fantasy read, Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is truly excellent. As I read his masterpieces, I really see what a great story is and how far I need to go.
My writing... well, I have an announcement to make. Though I've loved writing BIONICLE epics and short stories (and haven't finished many of them...) I've moved off of it. I may be co-writing an SS with a friend but that's all I'll be doing here. I really just want to focus on my own original writing. I have some ideas rolling around in my head and I've done a fair bit of planning so far... It's time to buckle down and work, I guess.
That's about it... for now.
Peace.
