Both Chicago First Base Positions Decided
On the South Side, first base will belong once more to Paul Konerko, while Carlos Pena is taking a trip from Tampa Bay to the North Side. Konkerko will continue to play for the White Sox team that has had him on their roster for more than a decade, while Pena will return to the hitting coach he worked with in Texas, Rudy Jaramillo. Konerko will be trying to keep up what he did in 2010, and continue to serve as a South Side icon, while Pena will attempt to bounce back from a season with a .196 average and over 150 Ks, but he also brings Gold Glove fielding skill to the Chicago Cubs, something the North Siders have been used to with Derrek Lee, who is now an Atlanta Brave due to a waiver trade earlier this season.
