The only thing I can think of is that the file-zise somehow changes from when it's on my computer to when I upload it... but I realize that I could be being a total newb right now, in which case you are all free to laugh at me.

Heh, I do that all the time. I usually keep both pngs and jpg extensions of some files. Eventually I just set my PC to display known file types so I stopped getting mixed up. =P
