Winter Break Reading List 2010
I currently just finished Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It was a pretty good book although I didn't really expect the plot twist that came about two thirds of the way through. The ending was rather ambiguous, so I'm not sure if it ended up being happy or sad.
I'm now starting on The Great and Terrible Quest by Margaret Lovett. My mom claims that I read this a long time ago, but I don't remember it. It won't hurt to read it again though.
Next is Infernal Devices by Philip Reeve. This is the third book of the Hungry City Chronicles. The first book of the series wasn't the best book I've ever read, but the story it self was interesting enough that I had to find out how the whole thing ends. The story it self is set in the distant future of our planet where there is basically no electronics. Instead of being static, cities are huge moving machines. They drive around and the bigger cities eat the smaller cities. The book calls it Municiple Darwinism.
The last book I want to read this year is A Christmas Carol. It's a lot shorter then I thought it would be, so I should be able to take a break from whatever book I'm in the middle of to read right around Christmas.
