Driving

In real life, is not like a video game. When you are driving you can’t look out the window as a screen and try to turn with your thumbs. You actually have to turn the wheel to turn. Other than turning I would say my first driving experience went well.

Besides the part where we were still in neutral and I pushed the gas…

The parts where I forgot to turn…

My mom said I did a good job, but parents usually say that. She told me I was riding the edge of the road. I only drove up our country road that is pretty basic, no lines or anything like an actual roadway. I’m not sure driving at night while the interior of the car is all dark is a good thing, especially when it is your first time. I couldn’t really see anything to know where to move stuff.

When I went to turn in our driveway, I really didn’t turn far enough. So I ended up having to go in reverse, which I couldn’t see in the dark. Then I forgot I had to correct the wheel from where I was trying to turn, so I had to drive forward again. Then I backed up and managed to drive and back up in another driveway, and then pulled into our driveway.

I’m really glad I didn’t try to take the driving test without ever driving. Driving is going to take some time getting used to.

It is going to take a lot of adapting I think. Perhaps if I wasn't driving at night in a big monstrous SUV things would be a little easier.

aw yeah; I was forced to learn how to drive with stick in our huge truck...and I'm like, 5'1. Suffice to say I'm happy to be driving a car mostly these days.

At least you weren't utterly terrified by the experience (like I was), so you're well on your way.

Also I find it much harder to drive with the interior light on. The goal is to see the world outside the car, not what's inside. :P

@LadyK Driving a standard will be an experience... assuming I ever drive my dad's truck.

@V1P2 Well I'm not used to having to use the controls and since I couldn't see anything it was hard to adjust things. xD
