I really liked the original TRON, and seeing the remake fail makes it even more disappointing.

Too bad people who haven't seen the original will remember the franchise as a cheesy movie.

I haven't seen the new one, but, having seen the old one, I remember Tron as a cheesy franchise

I've seen the old one, and I think it's a bit random. I mean, they spontaneously decide to go and hack the computer, after the employer for two of the protagonists and the ex-employer of the third gets suspicious? After that the story works but isn't spectacular, and the effects are wonky. I havn't seen the new one yet, but The effects seem cool, so even if I don't like the story, I know I'll like the visuals.
