First and foremost, I'm beginning to post an epic I've been working on sporadically for the last few years. The prologue isn't that exciting, but I promise that it gets better! Reading Fighting to Survive here. Secondly, I just learned that Brickfair will be in NJ, while I'm here in Philadelphia, so I'm hoping to be able to make it on Saturday.
It seems that roughly once a year I feel an urge to poke my nose back in here. This time I think I might actually stay this time, albeit on a somewhat inactive level. How is life for those friends of mine still around here? These last to years have been quite a change for me, I think. I went through my old blog entries (and by old I mean the first two pages because I didn't want to look back any further), and I'm a little surprised with how much of a tactless, immature person I was back in
Well, it seems that there's a controversy going on. I, despite my urge to remain an utter lurker, feel the urge to add to the controversy. First let me preface this: I really don't hate the people who disagree with me, at all. I respect your right to hold a certain view. But you're wrong. I'm sorry if you feel differently, but there's no discussion. The Lone Ranger is actually a very good movie. Seriously, I saw it a week or two ago, and as someone who never really liked the original
Forges smolder in Ta Metru, Chutes still fly through great Le Metru, Towers still stand in Ko Metru, But ruin lurks beneath these last buttresses: The great webs encapsulate them all. City of the Dead …At our end in another Lost City… Metru Nui was more terrible deserted than when Matoran still dwelt there. When we found it, the stink of desolation was everywhere: ruined webs hung from every building; those that still stood. Rahi prowled the ruined city.
Anyways, I'm backish. But yes, it's official as of... Perhaps two weeks ago? I've been accepted as a seminarian for my diocese! I also got to go to my first ordination mass which was very interesting: it has to be the best mass I've been to in a while. On the not so happy news, my dad had a heart attack just before that, so things have been pretty hectic for me. He's recovering, but things are still, as said, hectic. So... Aside from crazy hackers, what's new with BZPower?
I think we should come up with a topic not related to sexism, racism, homophobia, religion, politics, or other such things, and start a blog war over it. Wait. We already had this with Bring Back Bionicle. I guess that just means we need more ideas. Any ideas?
So, I want to make a picture of Colm as the bishop of Digne my avatar. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it's too religious for BZP (Roman collar + pectoral cross).... So torn.
So I finally decided to do a Les Mis name change. I first thought of Marius, switched momentarily to Enjolras, and finally decided on the bishop. But now: 1: Bishop Myriel. 2: Monseigneur Bienvenu 3: The Bishop of Digne I'm torn between these.
I'm actually writing a non Lego non short story that isn't too religious to be posted on BZPower! On that note, I'd just like to point out the COT Library initiative. As a writer who does a mixture of COT and Bionicle works, I'd very much support this to happen. So head over, cast your vote and give your opinion; if you don't support it, I suggest this idea, which Electric Turahk put so well: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the idea I actually
So, a lot of you probably remember War Zone. Well, coming this December, I present, BZPOWER (POWERED BY INVISION POWER BOARDS) In short 'War Zone 2'. It will have a very similar theme of disorder, but the backstory will be much different, and it will be a lot less sandbox. No, players cannot control a forum, seeing as about half will be anarchist wastelands and the rest will be already controlled by the remains of the staff. Anyone interested in this? I'm looking for people willin
Hello everyone. All writers, myself included, enjoy reviews. So now, I'm proposing an offer to anyone who cares: You give me a short story, epic chapter/short epic (for now) to review, or if you do not have that and still wish to participate, I will attempt to review other artwork you should list, be it drawing or MOCing. In exchange, you review one of the stories I list below. I can't promise that my reviews will be SSCC length, but I will make them a minimum of 100 words; in return I request t
So a friend posted the lyrics of the aforementioned song online, and I got a nostalgia blast: specifically because it reminded me of a hauntingly amazing story I had read years ago: Tahu's Concrete Angel, by Saya. And now I don't have to warn of an archive link! It's really good to see improvements like this happening. But that aside, that story is epic. Just saying.
The doom I sought to avert has come upon me; my philosophy teacher assigned us readings from Richard Dawkins. Here's hoping I don't throw up halfway through them. NOTE: The very fact that I am in a philosophy class, and have been since September infers quite strongly that i have read a number of works I disagree with as much as I disagree with Dawkins. I have. I read works that I disagree with, from Protestant writings to those of atheists. It's not precisely Dawkins' views that set me off
I was going to do a themed story, but first I thought if I did one on All Hallows Eve, it might be too religious, so I decided to stick with the essence of All Hallows Eve and then... Yeah, by then I ran out of inspiration.
I have to get a good photo of myself, answer one question, provide two references... I'M FINALLY (almost) DONE! ! ! ... Right when I'm rejoicing, of course, I recall the psychological testing and evaluation and the physical that's next.
