So I was pretty bored, watching some Hellsing stuff and felt like doodling in a sketchbook I had lying around. The character I doodled is Vayrael, who is currently a role playing character in Skylight, but before that started off as a character in a fledgling romance story I intended (and still intend) to write. I never wanted to use an image of a different character to aide in describing what he looks like, and I felt like my descriptions weren't cutting it (I also wanted to try other sets of hair as well, as I'm still a total newb to hair and practice is helpful). With this image, I'm mostly annoyed by how the eyepatch/cloth came out (it's like, a cloth over a patch that covers the whole of the eye), as the dark color from the pencil I was using (just a mechanical one, the one I use for school stuff) made it seem as if the two articles are one, though I've also simply never done something stretched across the face like that (nor did I have any references, though I didn't use any references doing this one as I was far too lazy to dig any up) so I didn't know precisely how it'd react, and it just came out looking off. I also have a beef with the eye, as I just couldn't get it right for some reason, though I'm mostly happy with how the facial structure and upper area of the hair came out. The necklace also came out awkward to me, but I wanted to include it due to how important it is to the character, as well as the history behind it (in the context of the story).

Anyway, that's how I spent tthirty or so minutes.
