So seriously, guys. Who's better? They've been such classics over the years, with such great moments with wonderful childhood memories and good games. All of it have made these characters gaming icons since the late 80's and early 90's.

Just to see what you guys think I figured I'd post this.

    ...That and I'm bored.

Note, this has nothing to do with this whole wet manes ban going on, and if that is brought up in this entry, action will be taken. Anything inappropriately said here (as that seems to be something that is said to be going around with MLP with these images apparently) will definitely not be allowed. Follow BZP rules, guys.

But this is just an honest question to those who watch it: Why do you watch it?
  3. Peach 00
Yeah, my family went out for dinner 'cause it's my brother's birthday, and we went to our favorite restaurant. They had some caviar on one of the dishes, and in a reluctant way I tried it. Not too bad - my mom was like, "How was it?". I simply replied, "I dunno, I ate it too fast before I could savor it." XD Still, interesting, but I probably still won't understand why so many people can rave that it's the best thing they've ever had. It's good, but not the best thing in the world.

Also plus listening to Hotel California by The Eagles is always awesome. I've had that and Ladies and Gentlemen, Roll the Dice by Kasabian stuck in my head for the past few days. =3

Yeah, it's my brother's birthday tomorrow. Because I figure I'll be busy tomorrow with either school (I might be taking the day off, I'm not certain of that) or hanging out with my brother while he's celebrating his seventeenth birthday, I'd post a blog entry, depending if I have time to post a topic. So, since I might be busy, let's just wish him an early happy birthday.

...really, I'd like to say thanks for those who commented. It really made me consider things and see a brighter side. Everybody who commented made me feel a heck of a lot better than what I was feeling like before, and made me realize that sometimes getting angry at a lack of reviews is pretty stupid. You can't expect reviews to be handed to you on a silver platter - you must be patient.

And with those comments, I noticed that lots of people tried to really cheer me up, which I really appreciate. I realized that people did kind of care for my well-being, whether it was in a small way or a little larger. It made me more or less see that some people do notice me, even if it isn't distributed into reviews or praise. It's in a friendly manner, which is much more worth having than critique in many ways.

To everybody, thanks for the comments and making me feel better. I really appreciate it.

I'm feeling slightly ignored lately - I don't know what it is, I really don't. Not that I'm begging to be in the spotlight 24/7, but I'd just like to be notice. I've felt this way about a lot of things lately. My writing, discussion - it seems like I'm just being ignored, invisible to everybody else. My writing gets absolutely no recognition nowadays, and when I post valid, controversial points in some topics, people completely ignore what I say. I can post page-length posts and nobody even cares to read them.

And with my stories? I can spend weeks, months, years - nobody cares. I've been writing Danger Close for two years now. Repeat, two. I used to have plenty of recognition for writing it, solid reviews and comments. Ever since the forums came back online, I've been completely unnoticed. And when I entered the SSC8 contest, two people reviewed the story. Two. I appreciate the comments, but I'm just angry that nobody really cared to look, to venture into something new and maybe enjoy it.

And then when the polls come out...when they come out, I'm not there. Sure, there was a 1 in 43 chance, but it was a story I had been working on since the contest started. I put my nose to the grindstone to write the best story I could, and it doesn't get any notice of even existing.

So tell me, BZP: What does it take to get noticed? Put some flashy title in a blog entry or story? Make it something to do with zombies, blood, skulls, and maybe even My Little Pony? I seriously don't get what I have to do to actually be noted. After the polls came out, I've really been questioning my writing ability and if I'm all that good. Just being ignored hasn't at all motivated me to write, and I can't come up with anything original or creative. When nobody reads my writing, why should I write?

And before everybody starts saying that I should just get over it about the polls, I've been stressed out about this contest from the start. I've worked hard, and I think people should actually take note of the trouble it takes me and others just to write something others might enjoy. I write for people - I would never write if I didn't have the ability to share it with others.

...Still, guys, just tell me what it is that I'm doing wrong, and whether or not I should consider even writing anymore. ._.

...I'm really sorry for taking so long in this. Today I'm going to be looking at the stories requested (If I recall, they were 'The Switch Mirror', 'Destiny Quest', and 'Divided We Fall'). However, I will be busy with a friend of mine today, and it depends when she comes and whether or not I'll have time to view all three. Nonetheless, I'm still open for requests.

I'll get to them as soon as I can, guys, I feel really bad about the delay. You'll all be getting reviews soon, I promise.

I finally got the motivation to put a few fingers on the keyboard for a change. So, I've got a WIP that's basically a dark romance right now, entitled What We Create. Only got a page in it, but I plan on it being about ten to fifteen pages. Despite the length, it'll still be good - the few characters in it are my villains in Danger Close, specifically Uzian, Fuzan, Colorn, and Tikiani. Silio won't be making an appearance in it, but only because he's had his day in the sun in Rebirth. But still, I won't reveal the plot, but I promise it'll be pretty good. ;D

Also I might post a songfic I did through the duration of the downtime, but only in my blog. If there are good comments on it here, there's a chance I might post it in the SS forum. Supposed to be a Nikila and Lesovikk romance, entitled Angel. The song of course is Angel by Sarah McLachlan - I was considering using Witness instead, but the other song seemed more suited to Lesovikk. And I've got plenty of other stories that I'm planning right now, all of them interesting. Plus, just about all of them tie into Danger Close with the exception of one probably.

Ah, what Call of Duty Black Ops, Animal Crossing, and Pink Floyd can do to inspire me.
  9. Peach 00
Why so many? We have the System contest, the RPG contest, the two SS contests - what's next? Of course, I don't mind it, but I just don't remember there being so many back on the old forums. =/

Well, because it's getting late, I figured I'd give random updates, news, quotes, and mini rants before I get to bed. Seems better to have a wide range of completely spontaneous subjects compiled into one blog entry than spread out into about nine.

So, first, just like to get this out of the way: At my ballet place, my teacher has been telling me/my parents that one of my friends and I are the two most advanced students in the class. Despite the fact it's going to happen anyway because of my age, she's thinking of moving me up to the advanced 12+ class.

As well, this Russian ballet guy is coming the day after my birthday (my birthday is January 21st), and because I'll be 12 at that point, I'd take the advanced master class he's teaching for a day. Now of course the other teachers, including the assistant teacher, will be in this exact class, and my teacher thought it'd be awesome if I were in that class. So, just to see what my best abilities are, I'm going to be taking that class. =D (But unfortunately for me this guy doesn't speak a word of English, so I'm going to have to be working on ballet phrases and anything that he will understand when in communication.)

    So that's update #1.

Now secondly, my brother (Tifosi 94) is having his birthday in six days, which will be five days tomorrow, but still, can't wait for that. My mom and I will be making a chocolate cake, either that or a black forest cake. For my birthday, I'm wishing for the Portal cake - anybody wondering what specific cake-type that is or if anybody has the recipe?

Annd for an entirely random part, I'm busy watching Cheers while typing this. It's interesting to see that there's basically a tie-in with about six other shows because of the producers/creators/directors of Cheers made those other shows. So, about all of them: M*A*S*H, Taxi, Cheers, Frasier, Wings, andone other one I can't remember. All of them are really cool shows. :'D

And again, on an entirely different note, writing has been semi-good. I've been wanting to do a human-Bionicle story lately, but haven't gotten any good ideas for it. Anybody have any practical ideas for a story? I'm wanting to use some of the characters in Danger Close (which, by the way, could use some attention, people), but I just can't think of any specific story background. =/ Also, advertisement for the following stories:

    Wings by Inferna Firesword
    Divided We Fall by Grant-Sud
Rebirth by Me (Self advertisement is pitiful, but what the heck)
    Danger Close by Me

So, there's a small list, but deserves attention. Again, I didn't want to advertisement my own stories, but they do need some attention. Grant's story and my story are both SSC8 entries, so we'd appreciate views on both. Inferna's epic has had reviewers bail on her (No clue who those people are, but get with it, guys), and just about the same with Danger Close. Reviews for all those stories would be great.

And last but not least, ask me stuff. No clue what, but just ask me stuff.

Apparently just recently Harry Morgan, known for his roles on M*A*S*H and Dragnet, died of pneumonia. It is sad to see this actor die - he played one of the best roles on M*A*S*H, playing Colonel Sherman T. Potter.

    Still, a tragic loss.
  12. Peach 00
I remember Inferna Firesword did this a year ago, and because I was bored, I went searching for it somewhere in her blog so I could have a little fun with it. So, for those who don't remember and can take it and post the results in comments:

    1. Open your library to iTunes, Windows Media Player (WMP), or whatever music device you have
    2. Put it on shuffle
    3. Hit play

Well, there you go. It seemed like it went pretty well - that last one instantly made me laugh out loud. Still, enjoy - comment your results.

Having that and hot dogs for dinner. All I can think of is putting cheese, pickles, and ketchup on top of my hamburger, taking a bite, and then start munching into the french fries I have with it - in the great words of somebody I probably don't know, 'OM NOM NOM'.

    BRILLIANCE.

Okay, I decided I'd take a look inside the proclaimed 'awesome' forums by so many comic makers alike, and viewed a few of the 'great' comics. I had gone there on the old forums, and looking at them now, they still aren't all that funny. No personal offense to the artists themselves, but I'm going to go on a rant about them and point out what I saw and the flaws.

First, after looking at one artist who will go unnamed, I saw the comics and took a look at the first one. Of course, it was just an introduction to the PGS characters, so it wasn't supposed to be funny, I guess. But I looked at the next few comics, and I still didn't see it all that funny.

So, let me tell you why: There's no wit. Wit. Yes, most of you might have heard of it. When making a comic, short or long, the potential subject should at least carry out a witty form of banter with characters, a subject that can produce interesting discussion between characters, when it might finally lead to a humorous end. Or, at least a similar comic type to that.

So, next, I took at somebody else's comics who is named as a genius among the comic-maker community. After looking, not all that much of a genius. The comics have some funny points, but not laugh out loud funny. I viewed the first five comics and I wasn't impressed.

    ...

Okay, well this wasn't all that long of a rant, but that's a miniaturized version of what I first intended to rant about. But, nonetheless, a rant.

I need some for Danger Close. The review topic has basically died on the second page, and it has six replies in it, three of them if I'm not mistaken my replies to the measely three reviews in the topic. Guys, I know that I shouldn't force people to read the story, but it'd be nice if people did. I've worked a year on that one story, put in almost over 30,000 words, and 74 pages in it, not to forget eighteen chapters. I've worked hard and long on it, and I'm not about to give it up just because people aren't interested in reading stories on here anymore.

Writers like myself love the criticism, the praise, the simplistic comments - we love it because it reminds us that people really like what we write. It gives us the pleasure of knowing that what we are writing, the emotions we put down in words are read. Even if it's a few words, we know people read our stories.

I don't understand why people don't enjoy looking at the stories the writers put out. The only people reviewing our stories our fellow authors, which is always comforting at most because they can point out the small flaws we have and tell us how to improve on those imperfect portions. But others reviewing tells us other people besides the other authors read our writing.

But I really don't understand this: Why do people care to sit in one topic for over hours, posting the same thing over and over? Now I'm referring to the games in CoT. How is that interesting? Maybe it's a different in interest. Maybe it's because people aren't always interested in writing. But try something new! It can always be a refreshing change.

Maybe this is just me, but I haven't really been motivated considering the constant lack of view on my stories. I write because I enjoy it, and I write so others can have the pleasure of enjoying it, too. When nobody reads it...it disappoints me. It makes things a little more bleak for me, a little less motivating. When nobody reads, why should I write?

Well, maybe this is just my version of a rant about writing. I don't think it's ever been writer's block stopping me at this point, but I think it's just the lack of my stories being viewed.

I never thought I'd be entering this, but as I said in the topic, I'm glad I did. I really hope some people review - I'm going to be gone until tomorrow, so let's hope there's some reviewers in that period of time. Who ever does review it, thank you. =]

Well, I finally got some snow, even though it wasn't a lot. It melted right when it hit the ground, but it was just too cool to see it in November. I have never had that pleasure before.

Also plus the Danger Close chapter will have to wait. I might get into the SS contest after all, and I still have time to post the story, since it's all finished. I promised myself that I was going to get as much schoolwork done as I can so I can get in. Anyway, I'm going off for a day or two so I can put the nose to the grindstone on this. Wish me luck! ;D

Yeah, just wanted to let you guys know that all the SYC (Submit Your Creations) stories that were in the slots we'll have to wait for reviewing. I'll get to them eventually, but I'll be busy on December 1st, and I'm trying to get what I hope will be my entry for the SS contest posted before the 2nd.

That, and I feel I'm pressed for time on the new Danger Close chapter, which I feel hasn't gotten a lot of posts in the review topic. I'd really appreciate even a single-sentenced comment in the review topic, just as long as I get something. It's basically dying through all the Epics pages, and I would really appreciate anybody who's willing to review it and check it out. Even if you read only the first few chapters, I'd still be in debt.

    Anyway, sorry for the delay in SYC reviews, I'm just busy with writing and school. I really need to get everything for writing done. ;_;
  20. Peach 00
So, I decided I'd finally check out the first episode. I only watched about roughly fifteen minutes of it, because I started to skew my attention more towards writing. Anyway, onto my thoughts.

At first, I saw it being more of a feel-goodery type of story, because it being ponies and all the pink colors and whatnot. That aspect I started to pull away from when watching it, but it still keeps it. That may just be because I've only just been introduced into the show, but that's the kind of vibe I first got when watching the beginning.

You can't exactly expect it to be awesome when you first see it, so I wasn't entirely impressed in the first few minutes. The whole evil sister story wasn't exactly the choice of story I would have had, but it's a show for girls around eight years old. So, again, you can't expect it to be great when first watching it. Still, it wasn't like it was stupid right off. It wasn't too bad, but it's not the best cartoon I've ever seen.

When I was a kid, I liked watching shows like The Flinstones and The Jetsons, as well as Cyberchase and Bugs Bunny cartoons (I never saw a lot of them, sadly) because they had a more unique sense of humor than Cartoon Network's cartoons nowadays. Adults could laugh with the kids at some of it because it wasn't stupid cartoons. I found MLP to be similarly amusing to that of old cartoons, but not as good. However, I would prefer it over CN's cartoons any day of the week.

It had an interesting cast of characters. Twilight Sparkle seemed like a bookworm that was well-educated, which none of her friends understood. Of course, friendship is magic (hence the show's name), but things like books and history can be cool in their own way, too. Rainbow Dash wasn't too bad a character, but she seemed to come off as an annoying show-off type of character. Not a bad character, but not my personal favorite, either.

And, I didn't catch the name of the other characters, such as the one with the birds (That's about the time I turned it off because I was paying more attention to writing), and the one that helped Twilight with her hair. Never caught their names - if somebody could give me them, thanks. I'm pretty sure it was Fluttershy that had the birds, not sure who the other pony is...

Still, the characters have strong points and weak points about them. Twilight has an idea of what friendship is, but can't really grasp it with those she knows. Or, that's what it appeared like to me when I watched the beginning. This is kind of a weak point with the character, as well as the stereotype that she does nothing but read books and actually would like to be educated in the finer subjects (in the story). I haven't really seen much of the other (what I consider to be) important characters, so I can't really judge them without either being wrong or right.

With it comes a sense of a fairy tale, because it seems like it will always have a lesson at the end of it. And it seems like that, when you watch it, first thing you're going to assume is that the end is going to have a 'feel-goodery' sense to it because of the name of the show. That obviously comes with the show's name (Friendship is Magic), but you'll assume that it's going to come near the end. Of course, I didn't watch the end (again, busy writing), but I did have a feeling something like that was going to come at one point.

Maybe because it's the first show I get some of these feelings, but it seems like it would probably be carried out through the show's entirety, whether it wasn't supposed to be there or it was.

Now, although I don't feel like it's the best cartoon ever, I was still impressed and entertained by it. It tries to pull away from the same five concepts that have been repeated over and over again. It has a more unique sense to it that I haven't seen cartoons nowadays really have, so it seems good in that way. Of course, it isn't a show I'd watch all the time, but if I wanted to just watch something that I don't watch on a regular basis, I'd probably pick this among a few other shows.

This is the one aspect though: When you watch it, you've got realize that yeah, it is a little girls' show, so you can't expect it to be great. Don't ever have high expectations for anything, otherwise you won't see the good in things. I didn't have huge expectations, but expected it to be like any cartoon would be. I was a little surprised by some of it, but I don't think it's the greatest show ever. It's good, but not the best. But, it definitely comes with it the sense that people should always value friendship, which is probably the best message anything can send.
