  1. Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know I received all 10 sets in the mail a couple of days ago, so I'll be able to post pictures of Splitface, Breez, Thornraxx, Furno and whoever else you desire very soon, once I've finished some Christmas-related duties. (I got the sets from amazon.de, before anyone asks.)P.S. Black Phantom...doesn't sound French, nor German, actually. Has anyone ever been to France? :P I go to France every year, and no one I've ever met there sounded like him, exaggerated or not.

  2. I'd see it as an oppertunity to petition for Bionicle-style sets (Not neccesarily Bionicle itself). I miss masks and mechanical detailing and complex builds and less hollow armor not connected via ball-and-socket connections and eyes not the same color as the head.

I think Aanchir will have something to say about that.
  3. Question because I haven't done anything related to Lego properly in months but, what are those things on the Chains?

They're supposed to represent handcuffs, if that is what I think you're talking about.
Huh... I thought they looked like Handcuffs. Kind of obvious if you think about it really.
Especially since the line's name is "Breakout: Catch 'Em and Cuff 'Em".
It is? Either I'm ignorant or that was a recent thing.
Erm... We knew that since September. ;)
  4. Just because the most vocal people in the community hated Fire Lord doesn't mean everyone did, as Dorek said. I for one loved Fire Lord; the basic design worked, and the only issues I had with him were awkward shoulder support and the lack of armor on the upper legs (which has been fixed in Black Phantom and Rocka XL respectively). With Black Phantom, the three things you listed (weapons, armor, and color scheme) make up a great deal of the set. And I like all three. So right off the bat he's a good set. As far as the build goes, which makes up the other part of the set, I'll be honest, I love it. I think there's always room for improvement (like covering the gaps in between the two leg bones, which they ironically did in Black Phantom with a t-shaped technic beam), but I'm perfectly fine with a perfected version of the Fire Lord build, with cool armor, weapons, and some nifty recolors. But that's just me.Really, there are only three things that I can find wrong with Black Phantom, in my opinion.1. The fact that the horns are a different color of red than the other red pieces on his body (mata to metru).2. The feet. Still bad.3. The fact that, judging by the latest cgi picture, his torso armor does not actually cover all of his torso, leaving the upper part exposed. The rest, IMO, is perfectly fine. Not Witch Doctor caliber or anything, but it's understandable, considering he's only $20. Not going to lie though, after Witch Doctor, I did expect something a little better. But who knows, maybe summer will bring that?-Mesonak

Actually, the horn pieces used for Black Phantom (if they're the same ones as on the 3.0 villain sets) aren't Mata Red or Metru Red. They're actually transparent red, although with their rubber material and rough texture they're more translucent than transparent and do indeed resemble Mata Red more than Metru Red.
I'm pretty sure that's what he was referring to; putting all official names and textures aside, the horns indeed resemble Mata Red over Metru red, or just red and dark red as I like to call them.

  5. I got the latest UK LEGO Club Magazine today and saw that on the "next issue" page there was a small picture of "Breakout" Furno in the Hero Factory bubble. This just seemed odd to me as I've never seen LEGO advertise future sets in picture form this early for Bionicle or Hero Factory, preview or not.

The US November-December 2007 magazine had a pull-out poster of a BIONICLE timeline leading up to a full-page teaser for the Phantoka.Wonder when the sets will show up at shop.LEGO.com.

They do previews like that from time to time (the Piraka come to mind; they tried to promote the heck out of them), though it has been a while since we've gotten something like that this far in advance. It just shows that they're working on the marketing aspect; I do feel like they've trailed on that a little bit since the beginning of this year, but it's good to see it pick back up. Think you could get a scan of that teaser?Anyway, I like the plastic bags idea. My parents will like it too, considering the space it saves XP. It's a fresh new idea, and makes more sense considering the size change-ups.Toxic Reapa still doesn't look too bad, but there will be some gaps on him. Evo looks a lot more pimp than his package pose, believe it or not. And Rocka just looks great.Evo doesn't have a right hand, though, it seems, which is odd.
Thanks for the information on the past guys, I think the lack of early promotion for OoF last year threw me off. :PAnyway, here's the image. It's small like I said, but at least it's something. ;)

  7. I don't wash Bionicles, because they don't exist.

He can call them "Bionicles" if he wishes, not doing so is only your perspective; there's no need to be snide.Anyway, I don't wash my sets, Bionicle or not, I usually just dust them, otherwise they get really disgusting.
  8. To be honest, I don't really care when the US got them, they were released in 2000 first, period. I don't know if July 1st 2001 is correct for America anyway; I have some friends from the States who say they got their first sets around March, it seems pretty unwise to pin an exact month on it, let alone a day.

  9. I don't think it's really fair to pin that on the story team; it's their choice not to come up with a name. It's not necessary for what they're doing, and they chose not to. It may not take a long time, but if they don't want to, then they don't have to.I'm more interested in who the real culprit is behind the name on the DVD, though. I guess someone who designed the credits read Wikipedia at some point, saw that false name, but didn't understand it as vandalism? *shrug*

I would at least like a reason WHY they don't want to name him and end the confusion, since it would be so frickin' easy to do so in both respects.Or they saw the many posts affirming it from young/gullible fans. (Regarding the credits)
  10. Whelp, according to Bink, the story team never officially decided on it, and there's not going to be a change on HF.com (or presumably in the fourth wave), so I guess that solves that crisis. Shut it down, folks. On the other hand, this gives anybody who actually wants to call him a first name a fairly decent one. But for official purposes, he's just plain old Rocka.Gotta wonder what the DVD company was thinking. Maybe they're the ones putting too much stock in wikipedia vandalism XP

What I don't understand is why they didn't give him a name in the first place. It's not like it's going to take them a day to come up with something, more like a minute.Anyway, I will continue to call him "Daniel" because it sounds cool, as the story team seem to be oblivious to the fact that it would take them a minuscule amount of time to come up with a canon name.
  11. Stormer, Stringer, Bulk, Rocka, Evo, and a new hero.Kill off all the other heroes, please. I picked the least annoying here.

I found Rocka very annoying in Savage Planet, I really like his sets though.Remember guys, you don't have to pick what seems most logical here; pick the selection that you personally would like.
  12. I have to agree with Mesonak. Bulk, Stringer and Stormer would make great $13-level sets; and Nex plus a new hero as the $8-level sets would be great. Seeing as we're stuck with Furno though, and done to five heroes now, the likelihood of a new hero is pretty low.

If Stormer, Bulk and Stringer were all included, I doubt they'd all be $13 size. In "Breakout", Breez and Furno are that big, but Surge is $8 size. I think it would be something like that, with (for example) Stormer and Bulk being $13 size and Stringer being $8 size.
