Actually, the proper way to make a suggestion to improve the site is in the Tracker (see tab at top right corner of the BZScreen).

So, you can request that they can allow Soundcloud onto the forums? I have a link to the soundcloud blog that tells how to do that - I would just put a request in the tracker? Or send one directly to Black Six or another staff member?

EDIT: Or should I start asking around first and find out just how many others would be using it?

OOC: Oh my gosh, I haven't posted in forever. Shame on me. Konuju, when will your character Dack be getting to Hearthome?

IC: Malachi didn't like how empty the streets were. Or how dark. Everything was covered in darkness, from the clouds in the sky to the buildings of the city. It was difficult to see, but here and there he noticed the eyes of a Pokemon lurking in the alleys or houses, some strong or unyielding creature who managed to survive despite the takeover.

That, is really nice. I enjoyed listening to it, and I think the music is going to go well with the movie.

Thank you. It means a lot that you would appreciate it. I hope that it will be enough to enlist my help on this project.

Alright, so I finished it. =) At least, I finished a test piece. The first half is more of a background; the second half is more of a theme/background thingamajig.

That'll work out perfectly - I was expecting a request of this type. Your directions are quite specific, at least to me. =D I do have one question though - do you want it to be atmospheric, like a backdrop, or more of an actual piece/theme?

Did you take out the 's' in https? Because I remember that when I posted videos from Vimeo I had to take the 's' out of https for it to work.-Rez EDIT: Are we sure that Soundcloud is compatible with BZPower? Because after researching a bit, I found that you have to buy a certain app to make Soundcloud compatible on IPB forums. Most of the apps were very cheap. It would require some BBCode, but I don't think it would be that difficult. Here are links to two different apps supporting Soundcloud.

It seems that you need to purchase an IPS License in order to get to downloads, rather than just buying a app without a membership. Is there any possible way to embed/link without needing to buy a membership to do it? Buying an app, I'm totally fine with.

Ok, so recently I asked about putting like a widget that plays music into my signature, and it's all good just as long as it doesn't play the music automatically. However, I'm having some difficulties putting the Soundcloud widget with the music into my signature. When I input the dimensions and URL in special BZP code under 'Media', the widget appears in my signature editing box. However, when I click 'Save Changes', it vanishes.

Is this because of something I'm doing wrong, or is it because Soundcloud isn't a supported type of widget/link?

OOC: Not sure if I made it clear, but the Void Tower is outside of Hearthome, not in Veilstone. Dack is heading to Veilstone because it's the easiest way to get to the Sinnoh mainland from the Battle Zone. But to answer your question, pretty much all of Sinnoh is under Darkrai control. The Darkrai themselves aren't present (they're either finishing up in Hoenn or getting ready to start taking over Johto) but the entire region is covered in shadow. Nearly everyone is going to be asleep, although there may be a few Pokemon still awake that have run rampant.

OOC: Ok, I see. Rewriting . . .

IC:

Malachi shivered. This place was so dark - Hearthome was only a shadow of its former self.

'Ha, shadow,' he thought. 'Aren't you a funny one.'

His Pokeballs shivered, and he patted them reassuringly. "It's alright guys. I won't bring you out unless I absolutely have to."

ALRIGHT, so I certainly forgot to reply for quite a while. Sorry about that!

 

Here's the verdict. Eljay listened to your music (and loved it). I quite enjoyed your teaser for "Heartbeat" specifically, as well as "Possibilities."

 

I'll update you soon when some of the others give it a listen, but I'll put it to you this way; you're under heavy consideration as far as joining the music team. I'll get back to you soon this time.

OOC: Well, this has been active lately, hasn't it?

IC: Stephen leapt from platform to platform, breathing hard. It had not been easy to get to the Dragon's Cave, and he could not believe he was actually still alive. The cave was unimaginably large, with eroding spires jutting out from the unseen ceiling and floor. A constant storm of Maelstrom energy roiled far below the floating platforms Stephen now stood on. Bolts of violet lightning occasionally erupted from the primordial typhoon, scorching the walls and occasionally blasting the platforms into clouds of grating dust.

It was like the birth of the Maelstorm, uncontrolled, violent, and terrible. But Stephen felt oddly at peace, surrounded by the chaos - it energized him, filled him to the brim with its power. And yet he knew if he got too close, or tapped too much of that power, he would be overwhelmed. Wonderful, tip-toeing the line of death and discovery.

Hey! I was wondering, is it alright to link to music in your signature, such as to your own soundcloud account? If you can, can you put a widget, or is it only supposed to be a link anchored in the text?

Malachi waited for a moment. Hearthome City was up ahead, and he wanted a good moment to study the tower dominating the skyline. He had never been to the city, but it seemed like a place that would have been fun.

"Well, let's head," he murmured to himself.

The young man had flown non-stop to reach the city this soon, and had taken a jeep to the country surrounding the city. It wasn't a place he enjoyed, as wet as it was. A heavy downpour was sheeting down even now, casting gloom over the area.

OOC: So, is the city like under completely Darkrai control?

OOC: Azarath: I see your point on your character only having two Pokemon, but they can still have up to six moves each.

And you're welcome to join my Rocket character, Dack, who is with his friend Luke, Palmer (both NPCs) and Zacax's character Zac. They're in Sinnoh, currently sailing toward Veilstone, and

are trying to take down the Void Tower that the Ancient Darkrai built near Hearthome. Of course, you'd have to come up with a good reason to suddenly go to Sinnoh.

OOC: Mostly the reason is because I don't think my brain can handle more than four each. =D However, as they progress, the variety of the new moves will help keep things interesting for me. Thank you for the offer to join your character.

IC:

"Malachi, we think we may have something," called one of the technicians. Malachi strode to the side of the room where a large map covered the entire wall. Markers of all kinds were scattered along the surface, the most recent of which was a line of black rectangles.

"What is it?" Malachi asked, considering the map. The technician pointed to a point on Sinnoh, which was marked as Veilstone City. "Veilstone City?" Malachi wondered. "What's there?"

"We've recieved intel that there's some sort of tower there that's been constructed by the Darkrai," the man replied. "We checked back on it with some sattelite scans, and it's confirmed as a source of the power that radiates from the Darkrai themselves. It's possible the Darkrai's power might be linked, but we're not sure."

"Have you sent word back to the Alamo about this?"

"Well, no. Most of this information we've only confirmed ourselves, just to double check. But we've gained permission to send one of our agents to check it out."

Malachi nodded. "On my way."

OOC: Or you could, yknow, join the mission. If you want. If you don't that's fine, but you won't get much experience or interaction with your character 'just hanging out.' As for your other question, you can come up with solo assignments to send your character on, but proper missions are organized and directed by Veteran-tier players. Which, at this point, is just me and Brikman, but I think it's about time we started thinking about promotions.

OOC: Yeah, but it seems to be in full swing, and it's always difficult to jump in on a storyline that's so far in.

IC:

Trouble was coming. Stephen knew it. When you were summoned by Vanda Darkflame herself, it could not be good. He wondered what it was about. Maybe his research project was being pulled. Perhaps he had done something against the Paradox's Code, or even worse, the Nexus Force.

He pushed through the doors of the conference room apprehensively. To his surprise, Vanda Darkflame herself was seated at the end of the long table, smiling mysteriously. Her legs were crossed and she held Stephen with a powerful gaze. Her eyes flashed with purple, and dark flames seemed to roar behind her composed expression.

"Stephen Gray," she said, standing. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Stephen crossed the room to shake her hand. "And you, madame," he said.

"Have a seat, Mr. Gray," the Paradox leader said, gesturing to a chair. Stephen waited until she sat down to sit himself. "I've heard much about you, Mr. Gray," she began. "You're research on Maelstrom control is . . . intriguing. You have a powerful mind, and go about things in an unorthodox manner. In many ways, you are a great asset to the Paradox, just as all of our agents are.

"I have a mission for you, Mr. Gray, one that will test your abilities, force you to make difficult decisions. It will make you a better Paradox operative. Do you think you can handle a challenging assignment?"

"I believe so."

"No, Mr. Gray. In the Paradox, we don't believe." Vanda grimaced. "In the Paradox, we do. We are unafraid, strong, willing to use whatever means necessary to win the battle. To become a leader in the Paradox, a warrior must be hardened enough not only to weather to power of the Maelstrom, but to delve into it, experience its greatest power, and survive. Now . . . I'll ask again. Are you ready?"

"Yes, m'lady!" Stephen barked.

Vanda grinned. "That's what I like to hear. Now listen closely. You are aware that not far from here is the Dragon's Cave, an extreme well of Maelstrom power. It has corrupted the dragons to the core, and will do the same to any who would dare stay for too long. Anyone, that is, except a Paradox soldier. I need you to investigate what caused the cave to become corrupted. Take whatever equipment you require. Good luck."

And with that, Vanda Darkflame rose from her seat and left. Stephen stared at her seat, surprised at the briefness of his meeting with the head of Paradox.

OOC: Wow, you guys are really quite friendly. I feel very welcomed, thank you. =) On my Pokemon, I decided to only have two, to fit my character, and make things a bit more difficult for him.

IC:

Malachi watched the computer screen apprehensively. Black coloring on the world map marked the territory claimed by the Darkrai, whose rapid advances were pushing their shadows forward at an alarming rate. It wouldn't be long before the entirety of the world was consumed.

"How long before they reach Johto?" he asked softly.

"Not long," a technician replied. "We expect them to be coming soon. Frankly, I don't think it's possible to stop them."

"Have faith, Markus," Malachi chastised. He leaned forward, tracing the outline of Hoenn with a finger. "The Darkrai will be stopped. One way or another." Markus frowned, but nodded as Malachi raised an eyebrow.

The pair were Team Liberty agents, part of an undercover base on the outskirts of Goldenrod City that aided resistance efforts in the city, creating disturbance and cutting back the enemy's numbers one by one. However, after the devastation of the Darkrai, the war against Team Rocket was temporarily placed on hold as the agents of the base scrambled to figure out some way to defeat Team Liberty's powerful new enemies. Every experiment tested in the labs proved inconclusive. All efforts to discover a weakness or a flaw in the Darkrai, whether in their power or their plans, was futile. Like the rest of Team Liberty, and the rest of Johto, the small band of agents had no choice but to wait and prepare for the inevitable invasion.

OOC: So, is there any group that's willing to have another charrie?

OOC: Well, I guess my charrie can just hang out until the Venture Explorer mission is done. Another question (I know, I have many); are we allowed to come up with missions to be assigned to our characters (and/or others, depending on how big they are), or are the missions controlled and directed?

IC:

Stephen and a Paradox Space Marauder advanced on a Maelstrom Horseman, firing bursts of Maelstrom energy. Purple laser beams from the Maurader's guns punctured the ghostly steed, while Stephen's cone of undulating magic disarmed the rider.

Regardless of weapons, the horseman charged, screaming like a banshee. The Paradox soldiers split apart, rolling to either side as the horseman barrelled past. Acting quickly, the Space Marauder tossed a grenade up into the horseman's helmet; it erupted with a roar. Stephen grinned, sure that the battle had been won. But even headless, the horseman turned around and charged again, this time tossing a congealed ball of Maelstrom energy. It burst apart, spraying the pair with goo.

Stephen managed to burn off most of the slime with Maelstrom energy, but the Marauder was not so lucky. He collapsed with a gurgle as the horseman shot closer, readying another ball of goop. Stephen closed his eyes and reached out with his powers, sensing the Maelstrom emanating from the horseman. Wild, uncontrollable, it raged like a fiery tempest, well beyond Stephen's control. Instead, he focused upon a single point - the grenade.

Just as the horseman bore down on the pair, the grenade erupted, and the slime turned back upon the rider and his steed. They went down without another sound, and dissolved into purple smoke.

Stephen knelt by the Space Marauder, and called on the Maelstrom. A swirl of power erupted beneath the Marauder and he levitated above the ground. Stephen floated him to Brick Fury's side, while an Assembly Summoner rushed forward to take him to the medical room. For a moment, Stephen watched the Paradox soldier go, wondering when he would find himself in a similar situation.

OOC: I'm pretty sure this is up to par with the standards. I do have a couple questions. I've read the Darkrai have razed a couple regions; Hoenn's one, right? What is the other?

IC: Stephen spun, bringing his wand down on the helmet of a Dark Ronin. The creature screamed as Stephen channeled the power of the Maelstrom through the wand, his blue eyes glowing purple with energy. Aas always, the Maelstrom's power felt uncontained, uncontrollable; he forced it through the enemy, who erupted in a flash of purple smoke.

A second Dark Ronin charged, sword upraised. Stephen ducked underneath the swipe and stabbed upward, releasing another burst of Maelstrom energy. The spectre absorbed the blast and laughed, supercharged. It rushed forward with incredible speed, sword whirling. Stephen barely managed to deflect the blow, but was thrown to the ground by the force of the impact.

"Great," he grunted. "Try out the new wand, I said." He rolled his eyes and leapt out of the way of another blow.

Yes, I compose. I suppose I should have just offered/asked straight up. I've posted some of the first songs I've written (a couple years ago) on my soundcloud account, here. OOC: Brilliant! So, what storylines are going on, exactly? Is the Venture Explorer still going on?

IC: Stephen sighed and rubbed his eyes, leaning forward in his chair. He swiftly typed out a command code into the computer, watching the resulting simulation play out on the screen. A blocky image of a Stromling began to convulse, Maelstrom energy swirling around it. Stephen entered another code. The Stromling took a hesitatnt step forward, but then pulled back, agitated.

It had been four hours since Stephen had sat down at the computer, driven to complete his research on Stromling control. However, after four hours, his progress gasped and crawled at a turtle pace.

'What's a Sorcerer even doing in the computer lab? If I was anything of a wizard I'd be testing it out on live subjects.' He stood, strode to the window of the lab, and gazed out onto the battlefield below. Blazing shots of violet energy raged from the cannons of Brick Fury, the Paradox Super Soldier. He towered above the other Nexus Force warriors, destroying Dark Ronin and Maelstrom Horsemen as if they were mere Stromlings.

'That's where you should be,' Stephen thought. 'Fighting with the Nexus Force.' He considered it for a moment and then grinned. 'After all, I haven't tried out my new Wand yet.'

He saved his research with the press of a button and rushed to the armory of the refinery, where he had stored his gear.

Skills: Stephen has trained extensively to learn how to control Stromlings and other Maelstrom-infected creatures, but can only exercise limited control over the weakest. His wizard powers are fledgling, but potentially chaotic and destructive.

Biography: Stephen is twenty years old, with dark blue eyes that flash purple when he channels the power of the Maelstrom. Due to spending several years at Nexus Tower and training with Paradox researchers, he developed a theory on controlling Stromlings, by influencing the power of the Maelstrom within them. His attempts to do so with Dark Spiderlings caused a mishap, resulting in an irrational fear of all spiders. He continues his research on Stromlings and Maelstrom-infected Mechs.
