  1. What makes you think a company needs to be desperate to succeed?

Look at Ninjago, Chima and every one of Lego's other good themes. They were good, and I'm sure Lego was turning profits back then.

So why do you think Bionicle would be bad now? Think about it. Now that it's coming back, do you think they want to alienate the most reliable consumers of the toys: the old fans? Of course not. They'll have thought about this long and hard, and would put in just as much, if not more, effort into the new series.

They're a company, and they will do their best not to hurt profits.

Allright, I see both your and Norik Of Celtania's points. Maybe Lego wasn't desperate.

  2. I'm sure that Tobduk and Axon could take out almost every single hero or villan in HF.

I mean, the guys a flippin assasin who spends his time feeding off peoples rage, while his buddy shoots lazers out of his axe and creates energy blasts from his palms!

  3.

If you think carefully on the matter, bionicle has been boneheads since the beginning. The original Mata heads are essentially 'bone heads' as they are very mechanical, and we all know the mechanics in bionicles are "skeletal" or BONE.

As for the voodoo stuff, oh yeah. A lot of voodoo stuff was happening throughout the story. Vakama and the turaga were the bonehead shamans wearing tribal witchdoctor masks and the villagers are little bonehead matoran wearing tribal masks and partaking in bonehead activities such as koli. The characters are all dimwitted in their own ways, even makuta who was apparently the most intelligent bonehead in the universe.

Jaller in the mask of light movie references Takua being a bonehead in the opening scene.

"Kohlii -head-! You could've been lava -bones-." Put the words together, you get boneheads.

Even in the inika series they were boneheads. Well that's it.

I'm totally stealing "the most intelligent bonehead in the universe." You can't stop me.

As to that news story, this makes me think it may well have been the inspiration for the Suletu.

Permission to quote that in my sig?

I would actually like to see Boneheads today. I mean, sure it would have flopped pretty badly, but my curiosity is killing me. I really want to see what the sets would look like, and how the characters would act (probobly like boneheads :P ).

  4. Alright, guys. Sorry if I'm being a buzzkill here, but IMO, if Bionicle were to come back, LEGO would maybe probobly mess up pretty badly. You see, back in 2000 (or was it 2001?), LEGO was desperate. Very desperate. But that's what made bionicle great (or at least the first year great). LEGO put so much effort into Bionicle back then to save the company, and I just can't see them doing the same now. I mean, the sets would most likely use the same HF system, and the masks would just fit on like helmets. Now don't get me wrong, I would love Bionicle to come back, but lets face it. Unless LEGO is considering filing for bankruptcy in the near future, we're not gonna get a theme with as much effort put into it.

  5. I really liked the tentacles, they do look organic and fleshy, great MOC!

Agreed. Those tentacles look great. The use of IFB cocoons in excellent too. One suggestion would be to have something protruding from her back, like those spikes on the Queen Beast from HF. IMO, the teal fits in very well as it gives a toa/matoran of air feel, which corresponds to the plantlife theme going on. Overall, amazing MOC!

  6. THIS is awesome just one thing though. I feel that the upper arms are a bit lackluster and need to be a bit beefier. Because when I generally think of a toa of earth I think of a very bulky toa with a very bulky build. Mostly in the upper body. Other wise this is really nice dude :)

Ran out of pieces :( Thanks for the compliment though! I really appreciate it.

  7.

Still wishing Ignika to devolve the Turaga back into Toa Metru.

Actually, the Ignika will most likely do just that. With Marendar and all, Spherus Magna will need all the help they can get.

Uh, not sure that devolving the Turaga back will help with Marendar, since Marendar exists to kill Toa. They would just be more targets.

Well it's not like Matoran will help to defeat a being that can break through walls of steel.

  8. What if, just what IF the following is what's happening up there:

**warning: crazy freakeay weird theory inbound**

Alright well it's not really a theory, but whatever. By re-reading that chapter of TPTB, It's quite obvious, or at least hinted that the Kestora are disturbed in some way regarding all the beings up there, and some might have become quite insane by spending so much time up there with a booming population that shouldn't be happening. Now, since it's stated that it sounds like bodies are being drawn across floors, could it be that the Kestora are just not doing their jobs anymore and have given up on repairing the inhabitants? Methinks that originally they just sort of drag whatever is left of the body then swarm around it and rapidly fix things, since they seem to have arms made for fine labour and precise motions and are smaller than most MU beings.

On another note, it would be interesting to see if some Kestora really were driven mad and recreated many of the inhabitants in more zombie-ish or mutant forms causing them to be all weird and stuff... Now that would be a TPTB that i'd like to read... ;)

Hmm, good theory! Maybe the things that Kopaka saw were those mutant zombie things.

  9.        Can Mata Nui still transform Matoran into toa regardless of being on Spherus Magna?

Whenever I make a toa MOC, I just think of a matoran touching the mask of life at the great temple (there's got to be a temple or shrine holding the Ignika, right?) and then Mata Nui sprinkles toa dust on him/her and boom toa. (this is on Spherus Magna btw.)

    But still, can it happen?

  10.

The two Toa had gone about a hundred yards when the lights suddenly went out. Now they could hear movement from all around them. There were whispers, too, but they couldn't make out the words. Kopaka triggered his Akaku Nuva, piercing the walls around him with x-ray vision. In one direction, there was nothing to see but outer space. In the other, he saw things – a lot of things – he could have lived without seeing. When he spoke, his voice was raw....
The sounds were coming closer now. Some sounded like rodents skittering, others like bodies being dragged across a metal floor. At one point, they saw a lighted corridor up ahead, but as they approached, the lights went off there too. Worse, the noises were starting to come from up ahead as well as behind.
-Quote from The Powers That Be, Chapter 4.

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside the RS? Sure, you can just think of all those people who perished as just magically being healed, but think about it: the Kestora must do something, right? Of course, there's always the possibility that all of you knew this and that this post was completely useless, but maybe that's not so. Because the people in the Bionicle universe are either mechanical or semi-mechanical (No, I didn't say your name, Tren Krom :P), there's a bigger chance that repairing everybody would be a more...Intricate process.

Basically, based on the little info we got about the RS in The powers that be, the revival process seems a bit more dark, ugly, and messy. What do you think about the revival process of the RS?

EDIT: There also needs to be a body and limbs in order to be revived.
  11.

I have a theory. Kapura could have been the first test subject for the Red Star, so, as it has been noted from other resurrections in the past, Kapura was never himself again, gaining a hidden wisdom and losing his awareness. In short, he was always a bit off. As for the teleportation part, I have theories but they're all ridiculous - or at least more ridiculous than this theory.

Well, what's the Red Star do? Teleport.

And what does Kapura apparently do?

    Teleport.

What if Kapura somehow took a little bit of the Red Star's ability with him?

You sir, just blew my mind.

But really, that is a good theory. Kapura is also red, if that's significant.

  12.

Yeah Mata Nui made the other species (aside from the Zyglak, Bahrag and Artahka and Karzahni...)

Well Matoran are only the first stage in their "development" with the Toa being the ones who do the fighting and so forth, so the Matoran weren't necessarily supposed to "look after" themselves like they did on Mata Nui (and Voya Nui) it was the Toa's job to protect them, so the Matoran didn't have to be super powerful to do their duty. :)

Wouldn't be easy if they made all Matoran into Toa so they could defend themselves ?

Well the Great Beings made Marandar because they were afraid of a toa revolution after Mata Nui completed his purpose, I really doubt they'd create thousands upon thousands of Toa if they were scared of just the Toa that were around could go bad.  :shrugs:

Wait, if they worried that the toa could become corrupt, why didn't the GB's make the matoran strong so they could defend agaisnt the toa while Marendar came to help?

  13. Interesting design. The drill looks pretty neat, wondered how you did that. Torso design looks nice as well, but what is the piece covering the bottom half or whatever it is?

The base of his thumper/drill thing is a metru torso, and the lower piece, if that's what you're referring to, is a loosely attached 4609763.

  14. I like the technique of using the limb pieces to form the sides of the torso. I can never come up with a design myself that I find satisfying, but yours is decent.

I am personally reminded much more of Whenua than of Onua, which is probably because of the Kanohi and the use of his drills in the weapon.

Oh shoot I meant Whenua not onua. Lol thanks for pointing that out, ill fix it right away. Erm, can you tell me how to change the title of a post?   Mod fixed it.
