  1. Welcome to BZP!  In response to your question, LeoCAD can export to .obj format last I checked, and it uses the LDraw library:  http://www.leocad.org/index.html

I'm pretty sure you would open a new file, put in the pieces you wanted, then go to File > Export > Wavefront.  Maybe do a double check in Blender or something, but then I think you would have a file to put into the 3D printer.  Hope it helps!

It totally worked!  Thanks so much!

  2. So I've got myself a high resolution 3D printer, namely a Form2, and I'm looking into trying to 3D print some Bionicle parts for the fun of it.  I've gotten the LDraw parts library, which to my knowledge, has most of the parts I'd be interested in using for this experiment.  The only problem is that the parts are in a .pov format, which is incompatible with PreForm (Form Labs' proprietary slicing program for their printers).  I've gone looking all over the place trying to find any conversion applications or anything that can convert a .pov into an .stl or .obj format, but alas, nothing has turned up.  I know this is a little bizarre, which is why I put it in "Off Topic".  If anybody here knows about this kind of file conversion, please let me know, and drop some links if you could.

    Thanks, everybody.

    Cheers,
