Just a quick note to say that I finally beat FTL. I've put so much time into this game that it truly feels like a milestone in my life. I will now go on to more productive things.
(protip: cloaking is OP. took me long enough to figure it out)
Welcome back, once again, to the polls! I'll cut the preamble; here are the four eliminated names!

We're on day four, and these are the seminfinals! Only two of the remaining six names can advance, so vote for your favourite, then call your friends and tell them to vote for your favourite! Everything's getting more intense, and it's only gonna get hotter!
Anyway, without further ado, here are your remaining contestants!
You may vote once in this blog post. Tomorrow, this blog post will be closed, and you may vote once in the new blog post that will be opened. You may not vote twice in one blog post, or both votes will be disqualified.
Please do not edit your post, or your vote may be disqualified.
With that out of the way, LET THE MADNESS CONTINUE
Day three has ended, and here are the names that have been eliminated:
Eyru Dreams of Farm Animals Mushroom Exterminator Eel Your Rump Understands A Wonderful Pistachio
All fantastic names, to be sure (I like A Wonderful Pistachio in particular), but none of them measured up to the following two names, the final contenders:
As you may or may not know, I was recently hired as a barista at a local coffee shop.
I have no experience as a barista, if you're wondering. I have my foodsafe certificate, which means I'm licensed to work in the food industry, but the most experience I've had brewing coffee is dumping some grounds on the machine at home and making some drip coffee.
But I'm not an old dog yet; it's time to learn a new trick!
I started off yesterday washing dishes. Not very glamorous, but everyone has to start somewhere, right? The coffee shop that hired me is a very quaint little place where you can have your beverage brought to your table in nice ceramic cups. That means dishes to wash, but it's not difficult, and I don't mind washing dishes.
I quickly moved on to learning how to work the till. I've worked in retail before, so it's nothing new, but the machine is a little different than the one I used before, so it took some getting used to. I've already perfected service-with-a-smile, according to my coworker, so everything's good there.
Today was my second day, and I learned how to pull a shot. Exciting, right? My first shot was too slow, and the second and third were too fast, but after that I got the hang of it and started making some nice espressos. Granted, everything I made went towards mochas or cappuccinos, not drinks like americanos that are made or broken on the quality of the espresso, but it still felt good.
Tomorrow I'll learn how to steam milk, and maybe even start making some drinks from start to finish. We'll see! I'll make sure to bring back some stories for you guys- I've already met some very interesting people.
It's a weird feeling to look around and realize that the life I'm living right now will disappear at a certain point in time. Three weeks from now, to be exact. I've always known I'd leave home eventually, but putting a specific date to that concept is definitely a little spooky.
I've already found a place just a few minutes off campus, and I'll start packing this week. It's neat.
So to all of you who have already gone through the process of moving into your own place: what advice do you have? What do you recommend bringing along? What did you not realize you needed until two weeks after you moved in?
Ever since I went Premier, my name's been different. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga... both nice names, but more for fun than anything else. They weren't really me. It felt like I was slightly a different person using them. Kinda.
But Eyru is me. This is my name. I've had it for years, and it feels good to get it back.
What's your favourite name out of all the names you've used over the years? Like I said, mine's Eyru, but Justin Bieber comes in very close second.
Breakfast was ordinary: once again I made an egg with some potatoes. So original, right? Unfortunately, my day always starts earlier than I'd like it to, so I'm usually scrambling to get the door. Hence the quick, simple breakfasts.
For lunch I had an egg salad sandwich and a pear scone. Today's temptation was a bowl of Thai chicken soup, which is seriously one of the best things in the world. But I resisted! (the scone helped)
Supper was chili and rice -vegetarian chili! My mom told me that she wasn't going to cook for me (which I heartily agree with; this is my decision, after all, not hers), but my family really doesn't eat a ton of meat, and it turns out that the chili was safe. Score!
Also I got stat pay for working on a holiday, played street hockey, and wrote a song. A pretty good day, I'd say.
You know when you're watching a bad movie, but it's so bad that it's good? As in, the acting is wooden and the dialogue is terrible and everything sucks but it's stil an enjoyable movie?
